Fav pedals for changing/colouring the sound?
I've been really getting into running intruments from my daw, (piano, drums, vst synths, etc...) through my pedals. And the stuff that sounds esp good is anything that puts its colour on it, like afterneath with wet up high/drag low, luminary full wet, compressor way too hard, etc... (Fuzz is good of course, but been drawn to the "cleaner" shifts, where it's not super clear what the change is)
Anyone got any favourites that really colour the tone, push the sound in a different way?

I go through phases with these three, but when I’m vibing with one, it’s pretty much on all the time.
Fuck od for the crackles
Mini for the low bias
Tetanus Booster for reasons. Idk it just sounds incredible.

Fuck @ low gain with momentary crackles. Mini at medium gain with lower bias for indescribable crunchy mojo. Place at/near end of chain in whichever order suits you.PeteeBee wrote:I go through phases with these three, but when I’m vibing with one, it’s pretty much on all the time.

Most people run Fuck last so the crackle eats up everything else. I like to feed the crackle to the mini and let it amplify and embiggen.
I also run all mine into an Unpleasant Surprise.

Also Infanem Driving Notion if you want it to be as close to unrecognizable as possible while still being surprisingly musical at times

Didn't think about the fuck crackles, nice nice. And watching Knob's Ghost Fax video, that's definitely going on my list. Cheers!

RAT at low gain, HM2 at low gain, Grand Orbiter at super slow phase or at one of the fixed settings, Condor at peaky/resonant EQ settings. And of course love the Fuck and Mini!

Boss PS-2 or PS-3 in pitch shifter mode 100% wet but the pitch set to unison.
Or honestly any delay/sample based effect set 100% wet with little delay.

Agreed. This is usually how I set mine. The addition of a bit of chorus or detuning a afterward is my gazey modulation bifecta.odontophobia wrote:Whetstone. Pad mode. Very slow. Subtle. Texture, babe.MechaGodzilla wrote:univibe or phaser on slow
Bit crushing is another textural effect I often use. The blend is typically set to where the clean signal overshadows an underlying layer of crispy digital crust.
Reverb is another effect I tend to abuse with a base layer of emulated spring reverb often complemented by various algorithms on my Boss RV-500 or Zoom MS-70 CDR.
In terms of dirtboxes, analog octave up effects like the Shoe Frog, Maxon Void, and Lovepedal believe provide additional dissonance and grind. I'm also partial to fuzzier boosts including the Vick Audio Overdriver, Aminal Effects 'Lil Monster, and Champion Leccy Divvy ... and then there's fuzz of various forms, which could be the subject of a novel.

This is how I received the most negative comments and ratings for one of my demo videos. Lots of people expected my (very old) demo to be pure Swedish Death Metal with all knobs cranked up.popvulture wrote:HM2 at low gain
