This is actually a PCB board. The letters are made of exposed FR4 pcb board. The black circles round the numbers are the solder mask layer the gold is the copper later with ENIG (gold finish)

Got it. The Lightning Wave pedals have faceplates done in a similar way and it looks killer

Me too. It's painful to leave that aesthetic behind. I might still done some stamped stuff from time to time.

The faceplate is nice but the unpolished pressed aluminium box looks a bit off with it I think, it could be an idea to use polished aluminium instead to give it a more luxury vibe.

Polishing cast aluminum boxes probably takes as much time as stamping the graphics. The surface finish takes a TON of work to make nice.

I agree or maybe a spray painted black or white box. However the core idea here is to make this less time-consuming and affordable to build.

Yeah, I'd pay extra for the classic look.

Forgot to think of the cost effectiveness.
The classic stamped look is fine, don't know if I'd pay premium for that though (as in more than the pedal cost before).
Maybe the faceplate can cover the whole pedal so you don't see the pressed aluminium much on the top side of the pedal?
Or indeed a plain white or black box would be more complimentary than the pressed aluminium, (off)white with gold faceplate and black knobs would look pretty great I think.

We'll see how it goes. This batch of 100 will be with unpolished aluminum. Might mix it up for the next round. I've hired some muscle to help me get this done before Xmas. PCBA is in manufacturing over at PCBWay, enclosures will be done pretty soon. Have to order more faceplates + a lot of soldering. Just hope the PCBA will be done and shipped to Bergen before December
