What's my favourite pedal ?

Post by Paul_C »

. . . I hear you ask. (hopefully it's not just voices in my head again ;) )

I do have a lot, and I'll accept that my favourite does change from time to time, but as of the 5th November 2018 my favourite in terms of how many great (i.e. weird and wacky as well as musical) sounds I can get out of it, is:

Dwarfcraft Devices Ghost Fax.

This is despite the fact that I haven't really explored all the extra controls yet, mostly because it does so many different things as it is.

Runners-up include: BitQuest, Syntax Error and Bakvendt.

So if you haven't already tried one, I suggest you do so, it's a great pedal!

my favorite is Zoom MS100BT, although thats cheating maybe - too many options

i like Ibanez PM7 in terms of phase modulators. Ghost Fax seems even cooler but so much more $

Speaking of phasers anybody check any demoes for the KMA Horizont? Could be nuts.

I don't know if I can pick just one... There's so many I haven't had the privilege of trying yet. Of those I have tried, I think the Tonal Recall is my go-to, but I suspect the RM-1N and I are going to be a perfect pair.

This is a fine example of the fun that can be had :)

This is an unedited piece (trimmed from an hour) of me mucking about with a Loop Station, Miku, Bakvendt, Ghost Fax, Afterneath and two Count To 5s.

Most of the pings and trills are me mucking about with the four modes and the poles knob on the Ghost Fax while everything else does whatever it's doing.

Favorite pedal currently is the Hexe Bitcrusher III and Meris Enzo.

Really though, I love all my pedals and most of all pedals that I've tried.

nope, Ghost Fax is where it's at these days :)

There's a Tube Screamer in my DM4, but I don't use it.

Probably my Seppuku Kompact Kassette, and home-brewed Noise Ensemble.

PM7 is great in a feedback loop, IMO.

I think mine is the Ibanez DPL10 Pan Delay. If you use two amps, the first delay pops up in the left amp, then the next to the right, and so on... or is it right, then left? Either way, it's GENIUS. It's just a delay, but STEREO.

All jokes aside, it's the Metal Zone.

Pretty Years! Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few people who've kept theirs, but I'll sell off anything else at this point.

Also, the Moogerfooger MF-102 Ring Modulator big baby is one that I've had several of through the years but will always keep one close by, since the control layout is perfect & overall gorgeous sounds it produces are really heads above all the other ring mods I've ever tried.

The Zoom Hyper Lead is less talked about these days (the Ultra Fuzz gets most of the attention from that series), but it's gloriously cronchy overdrive that has a Range knob that adjust the turnover frequency of the Mid knob (almost like a presence control on a Marshall, mayhaps). And I don't really like OD pedals!

I will always love my old Sovtek Tall Font Big Muff, but I finally replaced it with a Fredric Green Russian recently, for practical reasons. But all big green muff variations are a forever circuit for me, always.

And as much as I love modulation of all sorts, the Boss DD-5 is my favorite tweakable swiss-army delay, even if the OG Memory Man is the best sounding (but prohibitively expenssssive).

But also also also,
