Sproing!
After seeing 2 bands come thru with these, after figuring out what it was, I got one recently. It's fun and the filter is the secret star.
questions for users -
1) The LFO ticks pretty loudly, more so as you make the wave squarer. Is this usual for this unit? It's a little louder than I would prefer.
THANK YE.

That was similar to what I experienced iirc. Full disclosure, I sold mine about 3 months later. Would have more use for it now than I had back then. The filter was easily the best part, I agree. The reverb, not so much imo

^this sounds like below quote from gearpageechorec wrote:I had one around 2011, but found it fairly limiting. I'd just punch out some hypnotic, minimalistic line and snap the spring to get an aggressive, metallic splattering. I would say that it's better for manipulating loops than live usage. For the money, I just didn't see it as something with a great deal of everyday value to me. I've never regretted parting with mine, even though it was something I appreciated. It was more of a novelty to me, than a must-have.
ahha, sooooo this baby doesnt have bypass eh? hows that, turn down knobs and getcha clean tone egh?and sold soon after, not because it wasn't any good, it was beautifully made and solid as a tank, it just didn't give me the unique excitement I was looking for from an esoteric effects unit...I was quite bored with it within days and sold it on to someone quickly.

Re: Knas Moisturizer
There's just not much variety. The filter sounds good, and the reverb is fine, but it's ideal for hands-free operation. If you want to tweak your loops, you'll be much happier than someone who's trying to play an instrument while also trying to coax sounds out of the Moisturizer.
I think most people would be happier with a separate filter and reverb, or a multi-engine reverb (and their pre-existing tools) than with this. In the past 7 years there have been so many new devices that are less expensive and deeper than this. Honestly I forget all about these, until someone else brings it up.
The best thing KNAS ever did was the Polygamist, and sadly that disappeared before it ever really got going. I've read 55 were made, and honestly that sounds way too high. I thought the number was closer to 20.

Re: Knas Moisturizer
What interested me about the Mositurizer was seeing people play it as an instrument (no input) for ambient/experimental music. Tapping the springs, etc. That's why they're exposed, right?
If it's just being used like a reverb pedal, I would expect to be disappointed, in relation to cost.

Re: Knas Moisturizer
was wondering what would it would sound like to plug the cv's into each other the other day...

now see, if uncle smog father never left, maybe I'd know..but
...but from the little i have read so far, it seems theres for instance a "dont do it, but you could try, i dont recommend it, but it would/could/possibly work, but dont" kinda thing already mentioned on using other spring tanks. gonna just think up all me ? and shoot an email....wonder if you could do a swap ..like ..dont build the cv's but add the mods thang.
