Boss!!!! Why???!!! Anyone dumb enough to want a metal zone can get one for 20-ish dollars all day long. They sound like shit! (Pretty decent EQ, but come on). Of all the awesome pedals, who the hell needs a waza craft metal zone? Meanwhile, an hm-2 is a fucking icon that will cost me the price of 5-7 metal zones. The FZ-2 is a giant that will cost me roughly 15 metal zones. This is so dumb.

Honestly, I think Boss is falling for the meme and just doesn't realize it.
It's like they just don't recognize that 90% of all discussions about the MT-2 is shittalking and the votes or whatever they're looking at for it are just shitposts.
Didn't they do some sort of poll a few months ago where the top answers were the DC-2 and MT-2, also? I swear, the HM-2 must've been way up there but Boss seems determined to snub the HM-2 as much as they possibly can.
:picard:
All that said, I'll probably get a DC-2w if I find one for ~$100.

IIRC, "Waza" means technique and the whole Waza Craft (which is the dumbest fucking name when you realize it's Technique Craft™) thing was, at least originally, orchestrated by one dude at Boss HQ.
Since I always forget:

For sub $100 a DC-2w would be way dope.

Bassist from Bong uses a metal zone and his tone is pretty legit.

For that, you're going to be slumming it for the TC Electronics knockoff (and non-stereo)!

I got a free MT-2 when I bought my last DOD Death Metal on Craigslist. I’ve barely touched it but I’d like to spend some time dialing it in for a sick bass grind.

Maybe I’ll make a tiny board thats just an HM2, HM3 and a MT-2?

I bet Boss couldn't care less about your shitposts and rather bask in their sales figures. Personally, I think the MT-2W is going to be awesome.

I got my MIJ HM-2 for $50 because some young lady needed money for Suicide Silence (or some other deathcore band, maybe As I Lay Dying?) tickets that night. She even delivered to my work!!

I said this elsewhere but I'm just the teeniest bit salty that this got announced like 3 weeks after I took my board out of stereo. The DC-2w sounds crazy, though. Whenever I get a patchbay together for production that's absolutely going in.

They work well together in parallel!

I have all three in my master board!

The Dimension is amazing. I had a clone from Fromel for awhile and it was great. I didn't like the lack of volume control on it though.

I wouldn't buy either of these personally but it's cool.

The Dimension is a dream come true, honestly. Even at $229, it doesn't feel so steep, but that's also after years of seeing originals for about $175 on average (or the old Behringer stereo clone, which was hovering at $100).

I was on the fence about the TC Dimension clone, but the lack of a stereo out was a bummer (even if it's purple!). But since buttons are cute, there's also this June 60 Chorus (still needs stereo, tho):

The demos of the Waza Metal Zone sound more tasteful/revoiced than the OG $30 version, but only time will tell:

Can confirm that the MT-2w fucking rips. Also Pedals and Effects Guy was right about the “C” mode standing for Converge. It does the God City sound immediately into pretty much any Marshally thing.

I got the MT-2W today and am ultimately gonna return it, but just because I don't play heavy enough music that I'd ever use it. The standard mode still sounds pretty bad, but the custom mode is great with the gain at noon or lower. That into a dirty amp with only slight eq adjustments is a perfect tone, but if you move any of the eq beyond just a tiny bit it sounds awful. I'm now expecting someone to do a boutique clone of the custom mode with a better/less extreme tone stack
