Different transistors, slightly different component values compared to an NYC.
As far as I can tell the most significant difference is the transistors, though.

I'm finding that, unlike the OpAmp and Green Russian RIs, the Triangle sounds best with its sustain lower than 12:00. It also seems to have the second most mids of the three (with the OpAmp in tone bypass mode ranking first).

There's a more doomy sounding perf board triangle I have that I would have liked it to sound a bit more like, but the sound they went with is very close to the more common triangle circuit variant - if there is such a thing.

If the rest of the transistor specs the same, makes no difference to the sound of a Big Muff which is used. PNP vs NPN is just a mode/current polarity difference.

Yeah, but there's someone out there that'll insist negative voltage is the secret to great tone from a Big Muff.

Honestly, I like the big muff, but it really seems like they are milking the everloving shit out of it. Hence my somewhat tongue in cheek comment.

I own a PNP triangle, it's quite polite compared to some of the muffs I've had the pleasure of hearing.
