This, and the other couple like it that are out there, were built with prototype board, mainly as a reason to use up some stickers I had laying around.

The circuit is based on the old Hemmo 567 circuit and it also includes a 386 as a gain stage.

I have since sketched up a PCB for these and have an idea for a graphic for a small run where the pedals will be similar, but not identical.

While I much prefer the sound of the pedal you have, I kind of wish I hadn't called it the Nagelbett, as the name works much better for this item, for obvious reasons.

Yours is basically the 976-KVLT with an additional foot switchable op amp gain stage in front of it.

That optical ring mod looks to be teh seks. How does it differ from something like a Minifooger R-mod?

I am not sure any other ring mod works the way the optical ring does. When I designed it I didn’t really know much about ring mods so it works in somewhat of an inconvential way. The carrier signal is actually an optical theremin based circuit. The guitar goes through a fuzz circuit with led clippings and leds control the pitch and volume of the optical theremin carrier. This is what lend the name optical ring and how it creates unique wind down and pitch bending effects with your playing without the need for an expression pedal :)
