It's conjecture but what else other than a lower price point would EHX have to offer a market that has been over-saturated for 20+ years? :idk: Also, it doesn't explain the price difference between the GR and the TRI, unless the GR prices were a mistake, or the TRI is using NOS transistors?

Yeah, idk. Asked the same thing in another muff thread, I don't think there's anything special to justify the $20 difference :idk: The paint job looks really cool on Triangle one however.

And for $99, I will buy the Ram's Head as soon as it's out. :joy:

Prymaxe's has it
https://www.prymaxe.com/collections/eff ... -sustainer
and their 25% off Labor Day sale is still ongoing.

I have to admit it's a very enticing confluence of events.

I spent the better part of the afternoon today comparing a dozen Muff variants. The latest EHX Green Russian and Op Amp reissues ultimately ousted boutique equivalents, and I still love the Ibanez 850 RI, SUF Red Menace, and Vick Audio 1861. The Basic Audio Alter Destiny seems to have Ram's Head DNA given similarities to the Maxon Water. Also, it was surprising how well the BAT Son of Pharoah can cop super doomy Russian-style lows, and I think the Shoe 314 has a slight edge over the Earthbound Audio Supercollider '71 in terms of utile Violet Ram's head muffness (though both are keepers).

The EHX Muff RI collection as of today (apologies for the massive pic/probably best viewed with the forum in mobile mode):

All different enough to justify owning, though the Op Amp is my pick of the litter.

^^^Nice collection! If you entered that board in a BILF contest it would definitely get my vote. It's giving me GAS, too.
