Should I get an Electro Faustus Drone Thing?

I'm a big fan of Peter Edwards of Casper Electronics and more recently Bastl. The Nova Drone is a whole lot of fun. Buuuut .... I just did a search and it looks like the old Casper Electronics page is gone. Maybe just ignore this post.

Gotta go for the Fugue State over the Drone Thing.

It definitely looks cool & purple, but someone (comsect?) said it doesn't do pass-thru audio, so that seems a bit annoying.

Someone hijacked his website years ago, but I believe he's currently employed with Bastl workin' on modules/etc. at the moment anyway. A few of his legendary units passed through ebay for big sums recently - it looks like one's still available for anyone who's into 'stalgias:

I really wasn't trying to be rude, but felt as if you knew a lot about this and just wanted you to break it down more and clarify what you were trying to say.

Utopia synth - I just wanted to know why you'd recommend that in front of the drone thing. As in pros and cons, how you've used it etc.
The unstable part - I honestly didn't get what you were refering to, as I genueinely felt it was hard to tell.
The same about the two oscillators phase/change thing.
And no, apart from what I put in the initial post of this thread, as per what I interpret as your definition, then no I don't drone. But i'd like to. That's why I made this thread. I'm familiar with oscillators but all in all I'm not big on or good att understanding tech terms anyways and just wanted clarification here from someone who seems to know this area more than me.

I know of google and how to use it, yes, but again, why come back at me so aggressively? (At least that's how I interpret yor reply) I'm only asking for advice and input here. Chances are pretty high I'll google most things people say in this thread anyways, but additional "personal" input always compliments your own readings well so I was looking for some of those.

Also, I was curious on specifically why you wouldn't recommend buying from Electro faustus. Have they ripped you off? Do the have political ties you don't like (yeah, I'm deffo the kind of guy who cares about that stuff)? Or are they overpriced in your opionion? If so, compared to what?

The last part was obviously just some dumb joking around, a ta level which I thought was ok on here, but again, sorry if it came across as rude. I'm genuinely just interested to hear people's input and experiences on/with the drone thing and/or similar devices.

drone thing sounded cool being from faust...utopia is just a great starter for table top non modular fun. ruccis drones are thick...jmt's can be weak, unless you get him to custom.. or buy one where the osc go into a sub osc or a filter...jmt filters rule.

< worst device ive ever spent money on ..drum thing, for real?...guitar disruptor was fun.. they inspired worlds of folk into creating their own piezo black fly.. then made a drone thing, but I feel they have no clue what they are doing as a "company" ...they made the two knob osc...then the 3 knob...then the quad osc, then I think a quad +...then the drone thing...now that fugue...their regurgitator didnt work right, and when I did get it to work, was fun....why doesnt anyone talk about the GUITARDÄMMERUNG reminded me of somting dwarfcraft would make. all I know is you can play guitar along with 2 or more signal generators (osc) and the unstable part of the skychord stuff i mentioned, they can be so simplistically fluid bouncing off each other to where its creates rhythm and sounds like suction of redirecting voltage threw burnt components

Comsect is right on the money-- there are a bunch of drone (aka gate free) synths out there, and determining which one you like the sound of best is a big part in narrowing your search.

That said, if you want a bunch of oscillators at a good price, the EF looks pretty sweet.

drone thing is rad. chill or harsh, pretty interactive. rucci and skychord stuff are cool but lean on the soft side imo,, the MASF noise boxes are nuts. same goes for trogotronic. now that;s some sonic obliteration. I would like to try electrolobotomy, too. the demos are harsh. the mountainking noise stuff is also awesome if you can find them

this ep is basically a trogotronic 666 and drone thing running through a bunch of pedals and cranked tube amps if you want to get a feel for em

those mountain king synth look like they would be top notch, hope they're still in the works? .....also whatever you get, a kill switch for each osc and a vol control for each osc is a must i think..(making music with switchs instead of keys) ...more control the better, awesome when tuning along with guitar feedback!... & ^ yeah I wish skychords main drones would go higher in pitch, thats why I suggested the utopia cuz that one goes the highest with pitch switch's....its a drag when you want to go real low or really high but the knob is like, sorry
