I'm sort of catching up here. Is this related to the "help me identify this pedals" thread, or whatever it was called? I couldn't see the posts where this user got shamed. Why would they be shamed over someone else's taped pedals? Why would they be shamed over taping over their own pedals for that matter? What a stupid thing to care about. Why aren't the people who give a shit posting in this thread? When you buy a piece of gear, you own it and can do whatever you fucking want to it. It doesn't belong to Marshall or boss or zvex or dr scientist or anyone else anymore. You can show your gear off or not. Your choice. Maybe you do or don't want yourself or your audience looking at a bunch of logos while you're playing. It's your stuff. Someone else giving shit seems so dumb.

So, here's an example of one of xchristophex's posts:

He posted something like that in the Let's see your PEDAL BOARD thread, got some (presumably intended as) friendly ribbing from a couple ILF locals and, it appears, rage quit.
He's been around for a little while, now. So, the sudden disappearance over a joke seems...petty?

there was a time when the user christianatl used to get a lot of shit from people on the internet for having tape over his marshall logos. i think that mainly occurred back on harmony central more than here. People would get really worked up over it and I never really understood why.

The problem is, I agree with that statement and stand by it. But the intensity of my feeling about it is very low. I think it's dumb, but not enough to really put me off anyone who does it

Well in real life I really only talk to my wife and then like 3 friends via text message so I’d have to say my wife’s number one beef is fusion-era Santana that I’ve been listening to a lot - but every time I wear my Vomir shirt she says “oh my god is that a garbage bag on his head!?!?” and sadly shakes her head....
