DIY Amp Head Case using Target Trash Bin

This only works if the chassis is small enough, of course.

This amp chassis came from a powered extension speaker for use with a reel to reel player. I added a 12AX7 to make it usable for guitar. I added the IEC connector and moved some things around.

The head case is a trash bin that target sells.

The vent is some kind of boat drain I bought on amazon.


I doubt the enclosure would hold together with heavy road use, but it seems fine at home.

to go with it, I put together a speaker using a wooden vase type thing. The speaker can supposedly handle 50 watts, but I wouldn't hit it with that much.

I haven't made noise with it yet but I'll try it out tomorrow.

I put feet on two of the surfaces, so it can point forward or upward. The thing holding the grill on was the CRT mount from an old oscilloscope:
