I feel like each circuit probably uses different diodes.

I don't know if I've ever tried this in a full band setting but it's weird having a pedal that changes my sound so drastically, especially in the EQ section. I've found the best sound so far keeping the input gain pretty low and running it before other dirt.

What do you guys stack your DN with when you stack it? I used to run it with a TAFM and I remember that being one of my favorite fuzz sounds of all time. That was on bass through a YBA-3 so it might be different with guitar and a Quilter but I feel like I should buy another TAFM and try it out

After forever of wanting one and being poor, this thread showed up and made me pull the trigger on one of the two in Reverb in fear they would just get more and more expensive. Did the affirm thing so it ain’t that bad.

First things first, holy shit his is amazing does exactly what I want to my guitar in the best way. Bass not so sure yet but you can’t win em all.

Downside, the output jack is all fucked up of course and when I step on it or bump it the wrong way we go to ugly buzz city. Literally just got it today and I’m so pumped to have this but I may have to send it back now? Is this an easy fix? I don’t play with this kinda stuff at all so?

Bearstripes, there were some quality control issues towards the end with Infanem, specifically involving the jacks. It should be a fairly easy fix if you're handy with a soldering iron. It's not too hard to replace a jack. If you're not comfortable doing it, I'm sure someone here can do it for you.

In the meantime, if you have a bypass looper you could put it in there so you don't have to stomp on the actual pedal.

Don't send it back! You may not be able to get another one. They're out of production and likely won't ever be again unless someone here traces it.

Ooh good idea with the PDF2. I tried my old DN into a Boneshaker a while back but I don't think the shaker had enough headroom or something. It would always kinda fart out on me and didn't sound good. I bet the PDF2 sounds awesome though

The DN can put out a lot of subs that you can't hear but they can make other pedals/amps/computers after it react strangely.

So I would guess it was hitting way up against the headroom of the boneshaker without actually being loud in the audible range.

After getting a handful of DN’s, 141’s, even the phaser I just replaced the jacks instantly. Infanem must’ve gotten a shipment of awful ones - over a short period of time the tip of the jack would pull the tip contact up little by little until it was an unusable mess.

Get a couple switchcraft 111x and replace both.

Yep, this is what happened eventually to a Second Voice that I bought on here. Thanks for the tip on which Switchcraft to get. My layman’s peek inside my newer DN and that 2nd Voice seemed to indicate that Infanem would “mod” the jacks’ plastic housing to fit inside the limited space by essentially cutting away the housing to accomodate the PCB.

im at war with my DN again. chords are suddenly sounding warbled and out of tune. click it off and: PRESTO, everything is fine and sounds normal. anyone else experience this or have any idea why this would happen? thought maybe I had too much of one of the octaves mixed but here are my settings

HIGH: 1:00
LOW: 11:00

Check the position of the Mix knob. I’m not sure if I quite understand what kind of sound is going on, but if the Mix knob is favoring the Low knob by being turned more toward counter-clockwise, and if the Low knob is set higher, you might be getting some blown-out low end-y distortion that might be burping all over your signal

I'm also fighting my DN at the moment. The way I have it set, any little bump on the low knob makes a big difference. And then on a dark stage, it's really easy to bump that knob when hitting the footswitch, either turning it to hollow clank with no lows, or synthy farts, neither of which I'm going for.

Anyone know of anything like a DN-lite? Another drive with some character at low gain that will add some clank without all the harsh squishy compressed glass shattering tones? They're fun but it's too drastic a departure from my base guitar sound.

I've been using the DN for palm muted plucky stuff but it doesn't sound great with chords. I want something that's going to give me some more attack, especially with a neck pickup, without changing my overall sound too much.

Also if someone's in the market for a DN, let me know

Has anyone used the DN into a higher gain amp as a clangy/weird fuzz? I only had a V4, a Twin, and a Bandmaster when I had mine so I always stacked it with pedals, but i really want to try one again.
