I use the same pedalboard with guitars and synths. What I do is putting an AB-box in front of it so that I can switch between guitar or synths.

Seconded. All the modulation that I think sounds cheesy on guitar I end up loving on synth/keys.

Anyone use one of these in their setups?

A looper could be super handy with synths. Could offer a way for to expand the number of currently available voices in a setup a little if you were good at switching between presets. That looks like the right looper to get too.

I picked up a POG2. It sounds even cheesier with synths, and it definitely shapes the overall tone of what goes into it. It seems like unless you’re just using delay/reverb that you’re probably always going to face that with synths. I don’t think effects in general are made to really handle the full spectrum of audio that synths offer. So, I think I’ll build slowly with that in mind, and look more for weird/cheesy effects.

A looper is cool!

Obviously the answer here is timebender, because it does loads of things.

I've used my eventide space on lofi-synths and it makes everything sound like a million dollars.

I've used my HM-2 on drum machine and it makes everything sound like two and a half dollars but in a very good way

but it is! Like, the features make it great:
- Loads of delays, like ducking, tape analog etc
- Pitch shift, and pitched delays
- Tremolo in the envelope mode, which can also do pitching and arpeggiation
- Faux reverb
- Various modulations, a faux misty cave, chorus and stuff
- Looper, WITH pitch shifting and a filter.

Here is a shitty video with the envelope mode

The reverb, with setting in description:

Yea, the timebender seems like a Swiss army knife of ambience. I should definitely see if I can score one for cheap

I don’t think I need a huge pedalboard for my synths. A few pedals seem to go a long way. Here’s something I put together with just a couple of pedals:

Same, ODB-3 instead of the HM-2.

Said it too many times but I'll say it again: Metal Zone can sound awesome on synths.

Also sort of more synth/tabletop focused, but all of the OTO stuff is fucking fantastic. Conversely they also work really really well on guitar, but if you want to make them have the same stomp functionality as a pedal, you've gotta use some kind of loop. I've really loved mine for home recording stuff.
