Thanks for posting these :) It's weird but Kevin Shields now looks like a programmer I used to work with 20 years ago!

I'd love to see a Kevin Shields signature JM, preferably Squier or Mexican Fender at least.

Only if it has an upgraded trem arm which would make sense for him.

I want it to come with a hard case and inside the case is a roll of tape.

Hmmm now I'm wondering if players actually play their signature stuff. I remember reading J Mascis didn't play his purple one lol

Don't know about J, but I'm pretty sure I remember Kevin had a purple sparkle JMJM when I saw them in 2009.

Hell. I can't believe that was nine years ago.

Billy Corgs plays his signature Strat and Reverend quite a bit it seems. I believe J Mascis plays his Squier signature. I have stumbled across live videos of him using it. No clue if Troy Van Leeuwen uses his? St. Vincent obviously uses hers, the main guitarist in Wolf Parade also uses her signature model. Thats what I can think of off the top of my head...

Johnny Marr seems to only play his Jags now.
Mascis upgrades his Squiers (Mastery trem + Duncan Antiquities or the Kinmanns he's been using lately) and plays them sometimes.

Ed O'Brien uses his signature Sustainer Strats more than anything else these days, and as mentioned Johnny Marr loves his signature Jags.

This mini-documentary-thing (OK, let's face it, it's just an ad for Jazzmasters) was pretty fun. I wish I had *one* Jazzmaster, let alone one for each song... I tend to play around a lot with tunings too though, so I can relate to his predicament.

Are there any cheap Jazzmasters that aren't just plain bad compared to the more expensive ones? I don't know much about Jazzmasters except that Kevin Shields, J. Mascis, & Taka use them (that's like all three styles of guitar playing I care about!), and I really like how nice they seem to be for tremolo picking, neck access, and for playing seated. And I'd love to have a guitar with a tremolo system.

The Squier J Mascis felt better than the AVRI, CIJ, CP and VM I've played.
CP sounded the best however.
All stock.
