I could never get behind this thing, stacked or otherwise. Idk, maybe it was just what I was using at the time that didnt make it work for me.

Eh, its whatever.

I liked the tone controls, but hated the distortion. Bought one new and sold it at a profit. Would have kept it if it could do clean EQing.

Pretty much this...but every time I see people expressing positive feels towards it, I can't help but wonder if I sold it off too soon :idk:

I've always dug it and have never had issues with it. You have to take the time needed to understand the eq in order to get what you want out of this pedal. It has a wide range, but if you don't tweak it to your needs, then you'll never like it.

I also love the MagPie circuit bends. It makes it so much fun. I have two I'm working on and I'm going to shove them in one box. :)

I have to report that I fucking love this thing. I haven't really even tried to get a straight dirt sound out of it yet 'cause I've been so in love with stacking it. The EQ on this thing is awesome. And the depth control. I've been putting it in front of my revelation super bass and it's mean as fuck. Although the way I'm using it makes me think I should probably just buy a revelation superlead. But I've also been using it in front of a tall font green muff and it's insane! It's the perfection of the green muff dirt, but you can EQ it however you want. You can have mids and clarity and play fast with a band, and also have the heaviest dirt sound ever. I love it. Debating buying another so I can stack it in front of both those pedals. Should probably just buy a superlead, but the boneshaker can be gotten so much cheaper.

This is literally exactly what I did, at great length, until all options were exhausted and the conclusion was that there are 999 ways to polish a turd but they're all shit

personal build?

i recently fell back in love with my Boneshaker, utilizing it for it's EQ capabilities rather than dirt/gain. i bought another and run two simultaneously. love it.

And now I hate it again. After getting a second one... feels noisy and I’m getting crushed with feedback.

If anyone wants one hit me up

I'm surprised clean-up mods haven't caught on, outside of SMD panic issues. Back off the gain on the SHO section by changing one resistor and remove the clipping diodes and it should be much more neutral and open.

You crazy. I might actually buy it though if it's cheapsies. I shouldn't, but I might. PM me with a price.

Well, I have sold off all my pedals over the past 2 years. 4-5 weeks ago I started playing guitar again with some friends. I got tired of hauling out racks or table top processors, so it was time to buy some cheap dirt.

Ended up picking up a boneshaker and melx2 for under $100 combined. Really looking forward to finding out how they play together. Right now I'm leaning towards Boneshaker>melx2>DD7.

Should be a killer pedal. Mark's a good friend and we talked/talk pedals a lot, it's as versatile as you need with that eq from low to high gain, designed in cahoots with Tom, another great guy according to Mark. A great first pedal to revive your love for music! Good picks for versatility, keeping your board small yet doing a lot :thumb:
