Yeah I was kinda figuring it from that description. That'd be cool to have it accessible from the sweep of the Gain. :thumb:

Which reminds me: which version of the Throat Locust did you get w/r/t the Gain knob: the stock linear or the audio taper?reaper?
I got the audio taper pot, not sure how much it differs but there is a good amount of range in the beginning of the knob sweep.

My preordered Iron Pig arrived today. Totally fuzz-nificent with drive-o-licious inclinations. It's like a meaner-sounding EQD Grey Channel that can smooth out more nicely and chime at lower gain levels.

The Ge and Si clipping modes are ideal for higher gain excursions, while the other options provide a variety of delectable fuzzy drive textures. Slight blending of the clean signal improves clarity with higher saturation levels, and the attack control also serves as a secondary means of improving or obscuring note definition.

The backplate finish looks a smidge wonky in some areas, but the tones and internal build quality are solid. Easily one of my favorite dirtboxes of 2017.

From a recent mailing list message:

Earthbound Audio February 2018 newsletter

Thank you for signing up to the Earthbound Audio email list. I'll keep this message short and to the point.

A batch of 10 Iron Pigs is in the works and will be available to order direct starting at 6pm eastern time on Thursday February 15th. 5 black enclosures with slime green ink and 5 black enclosures with black ink. All wil be loaded with LM308 opamps.

These pedals will ship between Thursday February 22nd and Wednesday February 28th. A small batch will then be heading to Coast Sonic.

Follow this link to order:

A few final notes:

A smaller, pedalboard-friendly Centurion fuzz will be coming along sometime in late March / early April. Expect more info in the next email.

Several Throat Locusts and Supercolliders will be in stock at the bigcartel site in early March. Until then check out Coast Sonic or Rock N Roll Vintage to order those pedals.

Thanks for checking this out!

I finally got my hands on an Iron Pig from the 4th of July sale Matt had. I am pretty sure this thing has more low end than the Throat Locust and Supercollider. I have my Sparkle Motion set pretty bright as a pre-amp boost and the Iron Pig is still pushing through some serious chug. I would love to try this through a bass rig. I could hype Earthbound Audio sun up to sun down. One of the few builders I enjoy who takes popular dirt circuits, improves upon them, and also puts his own flair/character in them. I feel most builders who make muffs/rats/classic fuzz clones focus too much on making them improved versions that stick to the original sound, rather than shifting them towards a specific demographic of users.
