I think it's out of the budget range us humble 'avant garde cool kids'. Captain Strange Tales thought about building one but the thing looks uh....intensive/involved/intimidating. The built one is 3x the price of my synths combined.
That said, if anyone knew 4 other people that wanted one, you can all go all in and get 5 built ones and split them up for $1200/person (whoever organizes such an endeavor...best of luck ). Food for thought, $1200 built is only $200 more than if you bought the kit....just find 4 other dudes with $1200 they can front you. http://www.deckardsdream.com/product/de ... reorder-x5
(Actually, I'm thinking about it and it really isn't THAT terrible an idea of you knew 4 other people who 1. Wanted one 2. You can trust 3. Had the capital.)
I am mildly entertaining this idea. I'd have to sell something major to find the funds, but that sounds like a good deal. Count me as a solid maybe if you find 3 other peiple.
Also, got a Lyra 8 and it's incredible. I love it so much already and it fits perfectly in my setup (which I posted somewhere here already)
Got my Field Kit FX survey too! I hope there'll be more info on the Quadrantid Swarm soon, although I don't think I'll end up keeping it when it gets here
Good goodness I can't fund a $1200 synth. But I'm glad you would trust me enough to think of me as part of 'the plan'.
Also, I was WAY the goop doop off earlier. It's less than double the price of all my synths combined (not 3x). Whoops
If one was super entrepreneurial. I guess they could by the 5 Built Deckard's Peen and sell them for a mark up 'slightly less' than retail value. You would need 6K to front though.

So I was actually thinking about trying to be that entrepreneurial, but I don't think it would work. Now that I am on a computer and not at work on my phone, I was looking at the Deckard's Dream x5, but it looks like that's just the pre-order deposit price as well. I think there would be a MASSIVE balance remaining when they're ready to ship
OH JESUS FUCK! I cannot read. ABORT!!! Everybody ABORT!!!

Yeah. The Arturia VST has a free demo and that will satisfy my very basic needs. The more I play with that the more I think having qctual knobs and sliders is the way to go. So much cool sound design in there, too.
Realistically my next big hardware purchase is going to be an octatrack I think.
Field Kit FX arrived yesterday, so far deeply underwhelmed.
The CV-able frequency shifter is a LOT of fun though, almost worth keeping just for that. Unless anyone knows of another in a smaller footprint?
It's very much a cool portable little thing but none of the sounds are particularly breathtaking for me. Gonna keep trying with it for a few days but I've kind of already decided to flip. I want a thermae
Ordered a black Lyra-8 this morning. Seems like my kind of jam. Will probably sell off some stuff cover it but this thing sounds too damn good to not give it a shot. What pedals is everyone using with this? I'm feeling some regret over trading my Mercury7.

I bought some extra presets of that one in their AnalogLab 3 pack. They do a very nice job of showcasing the capability of it and make it super fun, even though I'm sure in real life, I'd only be able to make it sound like squeaky farts.

I use both the Mercury 7 and a RKM Tonal Recall with my Lyra 8. Sounds phenomenal! Probably my favourite drone machine.

I use reverb with it, rm1n or mercury7. I like the delay on it a lot so I don't really use anything else with it.

Used an rm-1n and it sounded cool but polymoon and m7 all day

Nurp, bought and sold twice. It's fun, useful, interactive...... but somehow lacking? Dunno. The voicing never really blew my mind, would've been nice if the squarewave outs were usable in the audio path. I got the bugbrand ddsr for shift register duties now which is more versatile for what I wanted.
