I'd prefer soldering the boards myself as the spin chip is SMD (less potential tech support). Is it still a kit if all you have to solder is the pots and cables?

There is one detail that everybody is overlooking.
If you don't use all 8 available patch slots on the FV1, UC is going to be reaally pissed off.
