Re: squier tele philosophical question
Why not just get the same one, new, for $160 cheaper online? It seems downright silly.

Exactly, It's not a guitar where one is going to be better than the other really... and it certainly isn't a one off.

$407 is pretty pricey, Guitars etc. are more expensive in the U.K and those aren't even that much here, Haggle it down to $300 and say you can just buy it offline for $200 if you wanted.

i'd print out ads from various places online like scruffie said and go down there and get your haggle on.
it does cost the store to import but that price still seems too high.
those are mass produced so you might get one that feels nicer than the other.just sayin incase you later buy it online.
look like a sweet guitar btw!

I have the black version of that guitar and I love it, and it loves fuzz. Do the haggling thing. It seems pretty ridiculous that they are that expensive. And I thought the squires were made in the philippines so shouldn't they be a fuck-ton cheaper than that being so close to factory direct?

There aren't any Philippino guitar brands that you could get?

I don't think it works that way -- the market for luxury type goods is often way smaller in smaller economies like that (I used to live in Thailand and computer equipment was (a) three years behind the curve and (b) more expensive than in the US). So even though they might be made there, they're likely mostly destined for export. $400 for a Squier tele is nuts though.wfs1234 wrote:I have the black version of that guitar and I love it, and it loves fuzz. They might even be made in a free trade zone, meaning that people would have to import them to the Philippines, despite the fact that they are made some blocks away...
Anyway, maz, do you like the neck on the jet king? I played one in a store and it was yuck.
And what is that jazzmaster/jaguar/les paul thing? How does the LP fit in there?
