I dunno. That thing sounds pretty dope. I wouldn't buy it, but it sounds cool.

That's an awful design, but I agree, it sounds pretty good!

I bought two patch cables last night. That's it.

Rep called me at 8:45 this morning. :grumpy:
lol yea its weird but i can't blame them. they just doing their job.
some ppl prolly really like that someone reaches out to them.
in their defense, most other retailers are pretty hands off, even sometimes hard to get a hold of when u need to.

i honestly didn't know how to answer the question.
Yes, its initially pretty annoying that they call from time to time (hey, just wanted to see how that Apogee's treatin' ya, man! – seemingly years after the fact), but I think they're hands down the best of the large online sellers.

Also I think it's hilarious that they're trying to hype up the Rogue form factor. And admittedly kinda cool. :idk:

I agree it's lovely. That classic 80s sci fi utilitarian nerd chic thing in spades.

I have to say I like the aesthetics. Reminds me of the Realistic MG-1. Retro-playmobile-futuristic.

Ok, I'm starting to like it. It actually seems to have a really smart and well laid out interface and I do actually like the aesthetic. It would be fun to integrate with my modular and I'd be totally down to build a Grandmother, Mother 32, and DFAM setup.

Yeah despite being a "budget" Moog, I've consistently enjoyed having my Rogue. Overall the case obviously feels a bit plastic-y, but the keys have a nice spring to them and I was always a fan of the look/feel of the wheels.

Just read through the Moog Grandmother thread over on Muffs annnd I'm done with that place again. I appreciate that everyone has opinions, but they've really turned into an entitled group of grumpy old men lately :picard:

One good piece of info in that thread: Sweetwater has the Mother 32 listed for $499.

Edit: I have no self control.... M32 incoming!
Edit2: Sweetwater can't ship Moog internationally and cancelled my order :(

To be fair, a lot of the guys on Muffs literally are grumpy old men.

My one and only synth is an MG-1, and while I really like it, I've been thinking about upgrading. I'd still want something fairly simple, as from experience the more complex the gear is, the less time I actually spend making music. But having some more options, like an arpegiator, would be awesome.

So this Grandmother seems like it might be just what I'm looking for. And I kind of like the tacky 80s aesthetic.

Seriously though, the entire thread was basically: "this synth should fulfil the very specific set of criteria that I think every synth in the world should have, but it doesn't so it's nothing more than a toy and should cost less than half what Moog is asking. Moog are just a bunch of greedy corporate assholes that have no idea who their market is or how to make a good synth...something about hipster millennials...grumble, grumble, grumble."

I don't know, maybe I'm just sour because I'm a hipster millennial :idk:

Anyways, I'm sad I'm missing out on such a good price on a Mother 32, but the more I think about it, the more I kind of just want the Grandmother. I love the sequencer and arp in the Sub 37, and this one is pretty similar, but with CV outs, which is really exciting. And I can always use more spring reverbs
