The Timebender thread

Just got one of these as I was in the mood for a new delay and chose this because I have seen some praise for it and the functions were limited enough for me to feel comfortable. Kinda surprised there wasn't a thread about it. Would be nice to hear how other people use it to get inspired.

I liked mine a lot when I had it. Favourite things were pitched repeats and strumming multitap patterns (what a crazy feature!!!)

One of my favourite delay pedals - the multitap with octave up and down delay repeats is wondrous... actually it's pretty awesome in reverse as well.

One of my favourite delay pedals - the multitap with octave up and down delay repeats is wondrous... actually it's pretty awesome in reverse as well.

I have not messed much with the pitch shifting, having a good tape delay with pitch shifting is really nice though.

Reverse is nice though I have not got modulation to work with it for some reason.

Its a cool looper but I don't like it as much as the timefactor looper, now thats an awesome looper. Though I am not really a looper user so it gets the job done.

Unless I'm missing something with the timebender

I really wanted to like mine, it seemed like an awesome bang for the buck on paper...

- The tone control is more like a simple treble cut.
- The difference between the analog and tape modes was subtle, at best. Not at all in the same league as the timefactor or superdelay.
- Looper: not nearly as good as the looper on the timefactor or dl4
- Main dissapointement: the volume of the repeats didn't go beyond about 50%. 100% wet is a nice gimmick, but why doesn't the volume of the repeats go to the same level as the bypass signal?

The fact that I don't read about this anywhere, makes me think my particular unit might've been broken...right?

Your experience with the tone knob is weird, i have experienced it to work like a tilt tone control and i have got some dubby high pass action with it

Another cool thing to do with the Timebender is to feedbackloop it into itself via other pedals while adding pitches to the repeats. Set voicing to UHH (or any other voice that does cool pitch effects) and set the timebender to variable speed tape (or Envelope, or reverse, whatever, it sounds cool). Then for example plug the guitar into the Left Timebender input. The connect the Left output to an overdrive, then a Superego, then a Flanger and then route that back into the Timebender's Right input. Connect the Right output to the amplifier. For extra awesomeness connect the Send of the Superego to another amp and blast away! Space rock here you come

You do need to watch the repeats knob on the timebender when you do this or you can get digital oscillating high pitch sludge drone... which might be your kind of awesome, but is difficult to actually discern any tune or notes or anything besides discovering you have a new super power with the ability to summon bats who attempt to communicate with you via your feedback noises. These sounds can also cause all the dogs in the local area to form a pterodactyl opera of unusual ferociousness. Be warned. The Timebender is all powerful.

seriously. this thing is sooooo quiet. I wanted to love it with all the hype it gets here, but it was basically unusable for me
