Obviously the correct answer is you need ALL the fuzz. Also, check out Harmonic Percolator variants. There's a whole thread about them on here.

An HP really changed my world (got an EA from Dirge) I was going to chime in with RAT but I see that already.

HP makes everything sound better,

Some fuzzhugger style stuff like the arc flash or Velcrobot may make you very happy as well.

My current fuzzes are:

DBA fuzz war
SolidGoldFX If 6 was 9
JHS muffuletta
EHX op amp muff RI
EQD fuzzmaster general
WMD geiger counter
Jext Telez DizzyTone
Amptweaker tight fuzz (seems to overlap with If 6 was 9)
Termofuzz

What can I get next that is different than these? Really interested in the Fuzz Factory 7 and the FZ-2.

Also, as an afterthought, does anyone happen to know what circuit the Recovery Effects Sound Destruction Device is based on?
If you want to get into filthy Shin-Ei territory, Fredric Electronics' Super Unpleasant Companion is the way to as it's a Companion and Super Fuzz in one with more gain and an internal trim pot to adjust octave level. I've had a few clones over the years and this is how I'd rank them.

FY-6 clones:
Frederic Electronics Super Unpleasant Companion
Black Cat Super Fuzz v.2
CBC Pedals The Super Fuzz

Zener diode or IC-based:
Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz
Behringer SF300 Super Fuzz
Deadfx I Can't Feel My Face Super Fuzz v.1 (modded with 1n34 diodes)
Deadfx I Can't Feel My Face Super Fuzz v.1

I would also recommend the Foxx Tone Machine or any of its clones with MXR's Sub Machine probably being the best one out now. Turning on both sides of the Germanium 4 Big Muff or Deucetone Rat may get you some great, unique fuzz tones as well.

Tone machine is a good suggestion. The Greer Super Hornet is also a good clone out now and the octave switch can be set up for momentary.

I would agree after years of searching the Perc is my favorite so far. Each circuit is awesome though and worth a try.

Get a Copilot Caracol. It will add texture and stuff to anything. Stack it into fuzz, or fuzz into it.

I was just listening to demos of the one Orange has out now (Fur Coat). Sounds good!

One of the few fuzzes I sold and want back currently. Last two modes got into devi ever fuckery territory and the the first three modes were just rock solid. Also big EQ/filter knob felt so good to turn.

Montreal Assembly You're and Your is cool, and fairly cheap.

Basic Audio Fuzz Mutant
I have these two fuzzes and they are both fun and expressive and full of textures.
I use them both in this meandering clip:

It's so stupid, they go for less 2nd hand than a fuzz war... when they can 100% do fuzz war sounds as well as a bunch of other sounds. The tone knob is so powerful, it's like a whole library of fuzz sounds, and they all work on bass as well.

I'll always recommend the

Shoe Pixel

It has a bunch of unique sounds in it.

One of these days I'll commit and try one of their pedals. That one ended up going for $168 I think.
