Shit I wish I could find one for $2BetterOffShred wrote:I still have mine. It's currently disassembled because I did the cap mod and the clipping mods but never drilled the case. Maybe I should. I got it for 2$ when I worked at GC
This reminds me, a buddy has the Daddy-O...weren't those basically Guv'nors?

Ha, that was my 2nd pedal. I used mine as a door stop for years. I'm just reading now the schematic is similar to a Marshall Shredmaster. It was like on 1 it had more gain than a Metal Zone.Aghartha wrote:My first pedal purchase in high school was a Danelectro Fab Tone (I'm pretty sure it was the Fab Tone at least) and a used Cry Baby. I made so much awful noise with those through my little 15w Fender amp. No idea what happened to any of it though.
My friend had the Danelectro chorus pedal from this era, which was one of the nicest sounding choruses I've ever heard tbh, I think it had to do with the 18v operation? I have a DOD 585B that sounds similar and is 18v.

Mosrite Fuzzrite. I got it so I could take a stab at “Buzzsaw” by The Turtles with it.

Mogwai cred man. Need that wall o distortion. That chorus was the Cool Cat, btw. Pretty sure its based on a Boss. There's one locally for $25 (that I bet I could get for cheaper) if anyone is interested.repoman wrote:Ha, that was my 2nd pedal. I used mine as a door stop for years. Re: Your 1st pedal?
I think it was a Boss RC-2 in 2007 or so, but I had no idea what I was doing with it.
Then i got a Devi Shoe Gazer. My friend and I played around with it, then spent a little while listening to the radio through it. That's when i found the path.

Re: Your 1st pedal?
As far as I can recall (it was a long time ago
) it was one of these, which I wish I still had.
not long after I got one of these, in part so I could run two amps (Marshall 50w combo and H||H Studio 100 combo)

My first was either a Bass Big Muff or a Morley Dual Bass Wah. Cannot recall which came first.

Hey! Let's talk about serious thing. We're gonna talk about guitar, dude.

Re: Your 1st pedal?
They're cheap sometimes. It's the pedal that kicked my HM-2 off the board in the Stone Age (it just worked better with the Bassman and 1x15 that was my standard small rig). Have one still, and it occasionally gets used. Have a HM-2 again as well, go figure!Jero wrote: Shit I wish I could find one for $2![]()

As far as the Daddy-O, yea, that's the claim. They're not a bad pedal (even though I didn't have use for one when they came out). I ended up with a freebie a fan sent to me because he had it kicking around his closet and I was using the Fab Tone, sort of a "well, you should have the brother" deal.
It's good for one thing in my setup - the EQ is fairly powerful, and can set it to "hello, I'm a fake jazzbox" pretty easily with my single coil Fender stuffs.
