I might be having band practice today, if I do I'll make my bassist play through it and see how it sounds and report back here since my bass is at our practice spot.

Would I be correct in saying that the normal muff scoop mud could be counteracted but the mid knob? Will I be heard once again? My USA reissue muff sounds great until someone else plays along, then it goes from muff to mudd.

Yes, the mids knob can over-accentuate or complete reverse the normal muff mid-scoop.
