Boss knobs feel the best

Post by Faldoe »

Sitting on my floor with my laptop and there is a metal zone to my left and rocking the pots back and forth they just feel good. Like they should be tweaked.

I agree

I mean the most oft used Boss pedals I never even touch the knobs so it’s kind of just speculation on my part

Boss HM-2 and a CS-2 for the most part are just set it and forget it but sure yeah those knobs are sick

My favorite knobs so far are the ones korg used on the minilogue: slightly rubberized with just the right amount of resistance

I was a huge fan of the RV-7 pots, with the little detents as your moved it through its travel. Super satisfying to play with.

Are we talking knobs or pots?
Because the best Boss knobs are these:

Agreed.
Boss really needs to start selling blank enclosures for DIYers.
If I could, I'd have an entire board of single and dual boss style pedals.

100% backed. I'd get back into trying some DIY stuff if I could use those awesome little boxes.

Why doesn't everyone just buy some used MZs? You get the enclosure, pots, power jack, and it's pre-drilled!

It would probably be a bad move on their part to give up their iconic trade dress though.

I keep thinking about using old MZ enclosures to re-house other pedals. Just one long chain of what looks like grimy old MZs and only I know the signal path.

edit: or I guess I could just paint any Boss enclosure to look like a MZ

The hardwire line was pretty close. Same with Ibanez. Maybe there's some difference but it's not 100% unique is it?

Way too expensive.
$10 or under would be ideal.
