Tips on amp in stereo with a DI signal?

I want to achieve similar guitarsounds live to when I reamp stuff recording or that of a pushed preamp/straight to desk sound.
Ideally a way of doing it straight to DI in stereo with a normal tube amp.
What i want is something trashy and "in your face" in addition to the amp sounds.

So far I´ve thought of a Quilter head, Colourbox and Broadcast.

Any other ideas on how to do this without sounding horrible?

Adding a studio preamp before the amp? Guitar > pedalboard > preamp > amp.

I want it in addition to the amp. So it would be : guitar>pedalboard>aby>one signal to amp/one signal to preamp>DI
Any tips on preamps that are bit dirty and also sound good straight into a DI?

What kind of preamps have you used before? Warm Audio and Golden Age Project has decent prices preamps based on API and Neve.

Sounds like the colourbox is exactly what you want. Though itll be tough to find someone on here who can back a jhs product. Sansamp also meets all the wishes. I think a rusty box might too?

API also has a pre amp pedal that sounds killer. It also is huge and expensive.

Anyone have any experience with it? Usually very sceptical about fake amps, but maybe it can work as a more fucked up sound source in addition to a amp.

It really boils down to what features you are after. I've been driving the front end of a power amp with a Tetanus Booster and it's been sounding good to me (albeit without EQ, etc.) I may also be biased a bit.

Have it attenuate as much or as nothing as you want, mix at desk. Profit!

Good idea! But then it would be harder to finetune that signal from the stage? Im looking for something that can be tweaked a bit eq and gain wise separately from what goes into the amp.
