IC muffs with a twist?

Post by frigid midget »

Time to try yet another dirt pedal...Anyone know of a compact IC muff clone that also packs something else? A muff is a bit meh by itself, imo even just a good treble booster or rat'ish type circuit before or after it makes it more gainy/interesting.

Ideally some sort of octave effect, or a full fletchted tonebender, would be awesome, though that'd be asking for a bit much in a fairly compact enclosure...right? :idk:

So I'm not even after anything in particular, just an IC muff, only not a boring regular one. My best bet isn't just combining an ehx IC muff with something else, is it? :idk:

Yes, in a Boss LS-2 along with some other friendos, or in a feedback looper if you feel like wild.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I have one tiny free spot on my board that screams for a big muff though, no room for two peds...:/

Conky is selling a BAT Crown of Horns.
I think that is an IC variant.
Edit: Yeah it is.

Looks like a good option, cheers! Consider this reverse spam

Still though, if anyone can do better than just a volume boost: Let's hear it :snax:
Particularly interested in something that helps fixing the old muff tendency to drown in a mix, in a better way that by just adding the typical mids control or something.

Caroline Shigeharu MKII sounds like what you want. IC muff based fuzz with octave and internal gate control.

We have a winner!

"...a slide switch that locks the octave-up “on” and converts the momentary to a kill/mute switch."

Thanks! :hello:
