Chosmicorus Labels Help!

Post by molokaio »

So Guys, I'm loving my chosmichorus very much, and with one pedal I can cover pretty much the territory I used to cover with the polychorus AND the chorlaflange: warm sound and crazy madness.

Now, I tweak it by ear... but I'd like to check if I got the controls properly... especially the toggle switches.

this is the model I have:

From top left:
-treble filter. - Delay time - Rate
- Volume - width - upper toggle: slow\fast
- lower toggle: a sort of envelope depth?

Any help?
:poke:

The second one is not the delay time, but the mix between clean and modified signal (I believe). It's true that it needs some time to use correctly this wonderful pedal ;)

The clock knob (width) is in cahoots with the bottom toggle to control the chorus intensity.

The middle position gives a mild/subtle range of chorus tones, the right position is more dramatic, left is VERY dramatic (a.k.a. cruise control for awesome).

If this thing can do poly type delay also then I'll get one of them instead

Thanks for the controls help, gents, and sorry for the ambiguity in the labels! Tanya didn't love the idea of having to place all those labels on the finish since it's so laborious for her so we opted for symbols in the hopes that once a person understood what the control was doing the label would be enough to make things clear.

Jero, I don't exactly know what kind of sound you're describing as I've never played a Poly Chorus, but the Cosmichorus can't do anything resembling delay, the MN3007 chip I use isn't really able to do proper 'delay' as it has a max delay time of 50ms.

Ryan the labeling you chose is part of the mystique of the pedal and I totally approve! :thumb:
I was just curious to know if I got it right, especially the toggle switch, because I cant seem to understand pedal instructions... of ANY pedal!

Actually Jero, it can't really to the delayed chorus the polychorus does, but that's a feature I always almost hated about the EHX... Just place a delay pedal before chorus with a slapback setting and you're set tho... infact I keep the chosmi after delays! this way you get extra modulated delay options as well! :omg:
Anyway, this pedal sounds so good, I'm not missing my other two lovely choruses... I even sold em! :omg:
Give it a good go my man!

I always forget also that we don't even label those toggle switches! *smacks forehead* We really make it hard to understand that pedal, don't we!

The bottom toggle chooses between 3 different clock speed ranges which changes how dramatic the effect is, just like Jon explained.

Really glad you like your pedal though, much appreciated!
