Don't need a lot of inputs. One for my guitar and another for a mic/xlr would be enough. It'd be great if it charged my ipad too. Right now I'm looking at the Focusrite iTrack Solo, Roland Duo-Capture EX, and Steinberg UR22. All are around $200ish. Is one better than the others in terms of reliability, noise, preamp quality, etc.? Would I be able to tell the difference if I dropped hella cash on a apogee or apollo?
I just picked up an apogee duet and it's awesome.
It sounds wonderful and has usb midi.
I'm using a behringer fcb1010 as a controller.
I just got an SE with the little screen, and I've loaded the apps I have that will work on it. Haven't tried much out yet, but wanted to ask what is working out for people on smaller formats. FSM knows some iPad apps were cramped on my Mini.
Looking forward to bleep blooping on the train.

There's Groovemaster GR 16 for drum machining, there's the amazing upcoming Synthmaster One you might want to wait for, PPG Infinite is also a great multi timbral synth, there's also KQ Dixie for a fantastic FM synth and there's...
I can list a shit ton of newer apps, but I should be asking, what do you have now?

Inconuucl: I can shoegaze that tune with 5 pedals.
other contestant: I can shoegaze that tune with 4 pedals.
Inconuucl: I can shoegaze that tune with 3 pedals.
other contestant: OK, shoegaze that tune!
Inconuucl:
- Patterning. A must. I need to start making my own drum kits, but even with the stock sounds it’s an incredibly deep instrument. Vocal samples + random + reverse + reverb = love.
- Ribbons. Probably my favorite iOS synth. Intuitive, immediate, sounds lovely even w/o adding any other apps or hardware.
- Borderlands. Just started playing with this after years of recs. Shouldnt’ve waited.
Other faves:
- Beep boop. Would be perfect if it had MIDI.
- Syntronik.
- SQRT. Don’t understand what it’s doing, but still fun.
Jump on all of the Audio Damage apps and AUM, makes everything better.
Also all of iMusicAlbum's -scaper apps: Fieldscaper is a fantastic looper and audio mangler, Soundscaper is amazing for well...soundscapes! Super deep and takes advantage of the fact that it's undoubtedly digital to bring some really cool unique stuff on to the table. Then there's synthscaper, probably one of the deepest non-modular synths I've ever played, and perfectly realized for the iPad.
