I will record a track using Fire and Heart.

Only the Drone Commander > EP-3.

EDIT:
Two elements, two devices that are instruments in their own right. One source and the other a reflection, sometimes become indistinguishable.

Dig Em!

I should have mine up soon. December was way busier than I anticipated.

January Challenge added: Illustrate, accentuate, or create silence.

Finally got a chance to listen to the two December ones. I really dig them! I’m excited for this whole thing, see where all our minds go.

Is anyone done yet? Planning on doing some recording on this later. Have to finish what I started for the sample collab. And BILF. And laundry.

I created silence, if you listen very carefully you can't hear it Image

....I did record this https://soundcloud.com/myblackenedsoul/icypeaks but I don't think the Jan challenge really had much to do with it other then.. that is sorta what I am always trying to do :idk:

Sounds good though. Are you saying you are always trying to create silence or always trying to create this sound? What did you use?

Thanks!
I think what I mean is I am usually going for the concept of when you are looking out into nature and stillness and also to atpempt to make my mind to go quiet.. Also things that are noise washes in a way could be seen as a form of silence as it blocks out all other sound, like the roaring of wind, sea, sand, rain, car alarms.

What I used.. That is a few tracks of a lapsteel with a ebow into a rat with all the knobs dimed :hobbes:

A steady sound that resonates with our mind or body can reset our calibration, then anything introduced (louder, a new sound, etc) becomes "more sound" while anything removed becomes "silence."

I love these challenges to push me in new ways of creating and thinking. This one took me deep into questioning what is sound and what is silence. Does one beget the other? If you never heard anything would that truly be silence, or just mere nothingness?

Hope this thread continues and more people get into it.

Like like this a lot! I want to say this is the first Drone Commander song that sounded not like a Drone Commander song, also your sun image really fit and made the whole solar flare vibery gel :thumb:

Thanks! The Twin Stags CV helps unlock some extra dimensions. But you aren't hearing the other 40 minutes that hit the cutting room floor. Been trying to just hit record and see what happens. If there is too much forethought I end up losing a setting that I can't return to. This is like a meditation exercise too. Awesome to paint with a different brush. I think at this point these challenges are all going to be based on the Drone Commander.

Dooooope. I'll try and knock something out. These are just prompts, so people are encouraged to just consider them and use them within their other music-ing.

That drone commander is rad, always been curious to try one.
