i had one in 97-98-99, back when they were still $250, and relatively unknown. i was the first "corksniffer" in tampa, and guys used to come see me play just to check out what weird stuff i was using

back then, i had zvex, fulltone, klon, etc......and one of Dave fox's first Provibes, running into an early 70s Vibrolux that had been hopped up by Doug Hoffman. my tone was THE SHIT

everyone laughed at my rig, til they heard it.

the Klon is still as good now as it ws then. it fulfils a very specific kind of niche tonally. if you want THAT sound, the Klon GETS IT.

i am playing a lot less BLOOZ these days......but my old drummer sent me a CD full of Mp3 files of us playing back then, and i was pretty taken aback by how good my guitar sounded in those recordings

the first corksniffer in tampa would be a great title for the memoirs of bobby d.

but yeah pedal-wise what was it like in 97-98-99 trend-wise. drop some knowledge bobby d.

:)

I almost bought one to do that. I was looking for a replacement for my always on Cornish TB-83 extra to add a little dirt to the clean channel of my amp, Bill told me it would be perfect for that. FInally bought a Catalinbread DLS, kept the Cornish and still don't know which one to keep on my board at my rehearsal room and which one to bring back to my studio.

So did you ever end up getting a Klon? How does the DLS stand up to your Cornish half a year later?

if you're going to go that route, better off with a Tokai Metal Driver -- same thing but with sweepable mids and 1/3 the price.
I missed out on a Klon by a week -- I dithered over spending $350 on a gooped pedal, then he pulled the plug.

Hit up that Klone, yo. I got one for pretty cheap and it does all the Klony things that people talk about and in a small enclosure to boot. I do love it and all, just not $350 worth of love.

I still think that the overdrive you're using only matters when you turn your Soda Mieser off, and we all know that that's just not a situation that comes up often enough to invest in.

I rehoused my klon into a danelectro FAB overdrive case for the lulz.
I never turn it off so why should I waste all of my money on a metal case?
