Portal are one of the very few bands that I will accept having the "Lovecraftian" tag thrown at. They are also one of the few interesting death metal bands IMO but then I am a tourist. The whole clock head aesthetic rules though, saw a live clip of them where The Curator actually silenced punters that were chatting between songs and it was both funny and creepy and works a whole lot better than the whole "death metal vocalist talks in growls between songs to thank the crowd and remind people to tip the waitresses" shtick.
