I'm not talking Console here, but like full on "patch the gain stage to the three separate eq modules to the tr00tube(tm) module to the out module to get a distortion" type of modular. It's going to be dumb and expensive and sound like shit but we are going to love it as we do, as we are programmed to.

You mean kinda like this  ...but on the outside of the box. (totally agree that someone will try to do a modular pedal catastrophe)

I've been thinking hard about building some pedals kinda like those Ezhi and Aka ones (with the banana plugs) only with 3.5mm jacks that let you connect to different circuit points and, effectively, create a bunch of different effects loops and control circuits (like, a loop that connects to another pedal that's your tonestack and a connector that allows for, say, CV control of the gain or whatever).

Spaceman effects will release a boutique distortion device that discretely allows the user to blend between the beloved Metal Zone and DOD death metal circuits, with responsibly sourced free-range silicon transistors and top shelf components. Each pedal in the limited run of 22 units will include a plastic half gallon jug of Monarch single "distilled" "vodka" complete with convenient monkey-grip handle designed by Steve Vai.

I do love spaceman effects though.

about halfway through the year everyone is going to get bored with pedals and modular and trade them in on 2 amps and a a/b switch and learn how to finally tune their guitar...

Mooer/Eno/Joyo/Donner/Biyang/Moen/Eleca/Caline will see all the Gonkulators on people boards, think they are popular, clone them, and sell none.

^this^2.

I'm no electron jockey, so maybe there are fundamental barriers/limitations (phase, voltages :idk:), but something as simple as the equivalent of preamp out and power amp in jacks that some amps have to isolate/mix/match circuits would be rad and/or sick. Unless it's impossible.

Huge callout. Love it. Also love my gonkulator.

side note: realized my biggest mistake with ring mods in the past was not putting them near then end of my chain.

DigiTechRep is probably correctly assessing the mass allure of the Gonkulator, but underestimating the rallying power of the Mooer Mafia on reddit or tgp.
This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

Hell yes? I'm still in awe of the Roland V-Accordion.

Yves! Also, I can't recall Fender cranking out a weirder combo since the Excelsior lately, and I hope they haven't completely given up that boat, else it was set on fire viking style and replaced with loony hipster artistes and -Breaker combos for eternity.

More $350 + "boutique" pedals where the hiss/white noise is almost as loud as the effect.

Joke or not, I still pine for the never produced Zvex SnowBox, but I suppose the cost to produce outweighed the intent/actual interest (besides me) :joy:
