How bout that Throat Locust? Your demo has me hurting for one.
I have a Boneshaker but I'm having trouble getting the sound I want out of it. Im going to mess with it some more today but it might be an Xmas gift to my bass player

I feel like the throat locust is sludgy in silicon mode and open/raw/amp-like in led mode. While I highly encourage everyone has a throat locust, i don't think it would get you anywhere near a driving notion/clangy goodness.

The Boneshaker can be kind of tricky dude. I think for sure it works better with bass though. Tom Cram can give you pointers on how to use it. It seems to be a bit much for a lot of people for whatever reason. I've heard a fuck ton of people having issues using it, but it's most likely an issue of comprehension of the pedal. Not that you're having that, just that's what I've seen on social media.
The Throat Locust sounds fucking killer. It's the best sounding HM2 clone I've heard. Doesn't even sound like one, which makes me want it. I fucking hate HM2's. LOL
However, I'm not sure it's got any clank if that's what you're after. It has lots of chugging though. (hahaha)

okay okay i know this is cliche but... why not both.
Distortion are way more versatile than fuzzes, and having both a HM2 and Rat would cover a fuck ton of distortion tones. I plan on eventually having the iron pig and throat locust set for different purposes.

I mean, I'm not opposed to both. My ideal dirt lineup would be light always on OD, Raw aggressive distortion, Big gated fuzz, and a wild card. Either something weird or just voiced uniquely enough that I can justify having a 4th dirt.

Man, really close to my ideal set up, just remove the "always on."

Yeah it does have some cool lo fi clang settings, but I found it much less useful than the DN sadly, I really wanted to like it!
Word, I use it to emulate the Devi OK, Neverdrive, and GZ among others. Really limit my use of it to lead tones and combining with other pedals for weirdness.

I know someone has to have one laying around that they wanna sell me or let me borrow or something. I'm sure I'll end up flipping it again but maybe not this time!
Had a five knob about two years ago, sold it to get a guitar, yearned for it back. Got a three knober in my life now and its too good. Perc => DN for max clang
