Re: 2018 gear goals?
Main goal for 2018 is to join the alluminati. This was already one of my goals for 2017 but it took almost the entire year to scrape together the cash for one of those axes because I got distracted by buying expensive pedals multiple times

Sell a whole load of stuff and buy as many Bugbrand synth modules (not so much EQ/Compressor) as I can suck into my life.
Hitting BST with a ton of cooly stuff soon.

Re: 2018 gear goals?
This is the first year I actually have a plan/goals that I want to achieve:
1) buy a 3D printer, print custom mounts, stands, and knobs for all the things
2) move my upright piano from my parents house to my house, have it tuned, continue learning to play it properly, possibly even take lessons
3) replace battery in DX7, upload factory presets, learn to program it
4) build the random DIY things I have laying around (AllFlesh, MIDI to CV thing, Sterling Silo 20)
5) circuit bend all the random shit I have laying around (Casio MT140, Boss DS-1, Korg Monotron Delay)
6) buy a proper mixer and monitors
7) buy a new amp (probably a Fender Bassbreaker)
8) buy a Polymoon
9) buy/build a 12 string electric
Likely 2019 goals, but who knows how 2018 will actually go:
1) buy an Intellijel 104hp 4U case and finalise my euro plans
2) buy a Make Noise Shared System Plus
3) video synthesis

I would love to get a 3D printer right now. Have you looked at any yet?
For me I think I just want to build more shit, I haven't had the bug to buy anything in a while. Maybe PURPLL if I'm lucky.

Re: 2018 gear goals?
Yeah, I've already decided on the Prusa i3 MK2S (or MK3 if I can justify the extra cash)
I was deciding between the Prusa, the Tevo Tornado, or the Creality CR-10s. While the bigger print area of the later two would be nice, the Prusa seems like it will give me the best print quality out of the box and has a lot more nice features (like auto bed levelling)

Re: 2018 gear goals?
To actually use my guitar rig/gear in a band. It's been a year and a half of just being a bass player, which blows when you're a guitarist. 3/4ths of my gear is just bedroom use which really undermines my reasoning on keeping so many pedals.

Re: 2018 gear goals?
Most of my goals revolve around finishing out my basement into a decent recording/jam space. I already took measurements, made a cut sheet and budgeted for insulating, but I need to install a door and figure out the acoustic control and lighting situation. It will probably go in phases throughout the year. Right now my half of our basement is pretty much a storage room for my half unpacked gear.
As far as gear goes, pretty much replacing the stuff I sold when I was in a crunch for money and space, before we moved across country:
- Drum Kit
- Bigger guitar cabs (only have a 1x12)
- Mid/High Gain guitar head (I only have dead clean pedal platforms)
- Bigger pedalboard + supply (I've only got a PT Mini and One Spot)

Re: 2018 gear goals?
Yeah I think that print volume is definitely workable. I found I had better luck printing a couple medium parts to fit together rather than just one huge part. One little fuck up on a huge part and all that time and plastic are gone.MrNovember wrote:Yeah, I've already decided on the Prusa i3 MK2S (or MK3 if I can justify the extra cash)

Hm.
- Flip one of my amps, as I don't need two (Jazz Chorus vs. Fender Bandmaster - FIGHT!).
- See if I really need the AD4096, or if my AD-80 or AD-9 does everything I need.
- Fuck around with the Grazer even more, to see if it stays.
- Copilot and Rochambeau tourbox hype.
- Being content with my current oscillating artillery.

Re: 2018 gear goals?
My gear goal for 2018 is the same as my overall life goal for 2018, which is also the same goal that I've
had for the last several years in a row now.
I want to somehow manage to add to my stable of delay and glitch-based and fuzz pedals while also
somehow affording to live and maybe even accumulate enough money so that I can rent a space for
a live projection screening event where I show my short animations and play live musical accompaniment
to the visuals.

Other than that my goal is to keep playing the gear through the guitar and keep animating and keep on
keeping on with such panache that a soccer announcer will be forced to assess my level of
goal-achieving thusly:

Okay, for real. I'd like a Mustang again. Or a Jaguar.Ghost Hip wrote:To actually use my guitar rig/gear in a band. I really need to stop fucking around and pick up all the cool shit Dwarfcraft is making and see what can work for me.
Put an arcade button kill switch in my Telecaster that removes the ground from the circuit.
More Death by Audio. Want Evil Filter.
Studio Monitors.

Re: 2018 gear goals?
Buying gear:
Pladask Fabrikat
New predirt reverb(probably a Holy Grail)
Sampler
Behringer Model D-clone
Studio gear(mics, preamps, outboard gear)
Reel-to-reel
Get a backup baritone. Prolly a Squier.
Fix/DIY:
Change the nut on the telemaster.
Add Bigsby to telemaster
Mod the Traynor TS-25 so I can hook it up to my big cabs.
Maybe get a Mastery-trem and bridge for the Puresalem Reverberation.
Upgrade my lapsteel with a Deusenberg Multi bender.
Musical stuff:
Get better at recording and mixing.
Record and release another solo album
Record and release an album with my new duo, Old Believers.
Finish and release the new Solstorm album(90% done now).
Play more drone/noise/experimental gigs.
Spend less time looking at gear on the interwebs and spend more time playing and making music.

Re: 2018 gear goals?
Buying:
Swap Mantis Tip Top for $$$ and a Make Noise 3U case, to be used as a control skiff
ER-301 Sound Computer
Rene/Pressure Points, Monome Walk, Mutable Ears, or other cool hands-on synth interface stuff
Pay off my debt (lmfao)
Music Stuff (mainly Q1/Q2):
Tour in spring with S.Al. Gotta get a hot new set arranged for that
Drop a couple of releases (Mescaline meditation series, new album of songy songs & experimental 'skits' of sorts)
Play some shows and actually make money doing so
I'd like to find time to get back into building/design, but I don't see that happening sustainably while I'm still working my job.

completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Oh yeah, my musical goal for 2018 is to get playing in a band again. Start one, join one, I don't care. "Projects" are fun, but I want to gig or at the very least play live in a room with other people again.
