The one in the DD-500 sounds amazing, not sure how close it is to any other "echorec" since I haven't tried anything else.MechaGodzilla wrote:I'm dying to try an echorec-sounding delay. I am such a huge fan of the guitar on floyd at pompeii and I've not heard a sound like it anywhere else.

My delay for the last 20 years has been my DD-5. I want to try a DD-500 though and a Belle Epoch.

Of course, if you roll back the Dimension & Dynamics pots to zero, that will take away the modulation. Then you'd likely want to set the Multiply pot early (1 or 2). Then it's a matter of adjusting the top-row to taste. If you've got all the top-row pots set to 11:00 with the phasers disengaged & the bottom-row pots set at/near minimum, then you'll have a more subtle delay.neonblack wrote:Can the Polymoon do subtle at all? I just love multi-head delays. I'm a sucker for that percussive pingy thing at low delay times. I really never use anything but short and very short delays.

Re: What is your favorite delay pedal?
The only true answer is ALL THE DELAYS!
That said, the only one I have that hasn't been mentioned is the Multiplex Echo Machine from 1776 Effects (which for a while was also available pre-built as The Wave by Fox Pedal). Three selectable delays types with two separate delay lines utilized in different ways that emulate the Binson, Space Echo and Echoplex. I built mine with the additional modulation board which will modulate either of the two delay. I love the Space Echo mode which I dial in with a rhythmic gallop and a slight touch of modulation.

I found the BE a very very bland delay, completely uninspiring, and the modulation is utter gashinfamousalien wrote:My delay for the last 20 years has been my DD-5. I want to try a DD-500 though and a Belle Epoch.

Re: What is your favorite delay pedal?
Not much love for the delay modeler that pretty much invented the whole digital modeling niche and is still insanely popular among touring/recording bands and artists?
DL4!!!
It's kinda pricey considering the meh build quality and the fact that it's still the same old circuit that's light years behind today's Strymon/Eventide/SourceAudio etc alternatives...
But it kills the superdelays in terms of useability, and the looper simply destroys the competition, including the otherwhise similar delaylab.
Stupidly sold my forst one, and ruined the next one in an attempt to mod it
I figured the old DL4 could easily be replaced by one of the many more pristine sounding boutique options. I was wrong. The straight forwardness and plenty-but-not-too-much feature set still make it a solid choice imo. The slight volume drop (or was that just on the older ones?) and shitty switches/controls/inputs are a shame though

Forgot to mention Digitech PDS delays. Can't get enough of them. That's partly aesthetic, though. Still haven't tried any of the DFX's, but I understand they're similar?damnableman wrote:Timefactor

I love the shit out of my Echo Degrader. Still trying to bond with the Echolution 2 Ultra Pro, but I feel like once I really get it the e2up will be right up there with the ED.
And I've got mad ct5 love.
