I have a 201, but I got it before they got trendy so I didn't pay what they are now. Still if you have the need for what they do and want "that" sound they are worth it.

I've wanted a Space Echo, but after discovering the old Watkins Copicat Solid State Tape Echo, I'm thinking about getting someone from the UK to ship one out here. They're supposedly insanely cheap on the used market over there and they have that awesome tape echo sound (especially when put in the long mode).

hah, some dude told me he got one on eBay UK for £58 and that there have been some floating around for £70ish. I would do a lot of things for a tape echo that cheap.

According to these service manuals, yes http://manuals.fdiskc.com/tree/Roland/R ... Manual.pdf

I was talking about the Watkins, the Tube versions are going for around £3-600 and the solid states only £100

i've always wanted to try building a tape echo... but i procrastinate. i think it'd be cool to build one using old tape decks and cassettes.

How much do you assume it would be to ship a tape echo to the us? My guess is something like £40. I am now really thinking about selling something and having you ship one of thems over.

Not a clue really what shipping will be as I dunno what one of these things weighs, i've only seen one once and felt no urge to pick it up

Royal Mail stops at 2kg internationally though and I bet this is more than that... Parcel Force has a 30kg restriction based on volume... tough to work out, atleast when tired.

My guess is that a Copicat can't be more than 10kg.

So much Tape Echo GAS right now...
