Hmm, if the Digitakt gets a song mode that would be major. Maybe I’ll just keep an eye on things for now, thanks Behndy.

Sit down for a patch sesh and after 2 hours your thinking, "What the fuck is this God Damned monstrosity, this fucking sucks."
1/3 of the time for me.
I can usually turn it off, come back later and "fix it". So I guess that's a plus haha.

A good thing to do at this point is to remove things (it could be voices, modulations, processing, etc.).
Check what parts/elements of the patch you really like and remove all the rest. Then, if necessary, rebuild from there.

This is a much better process in my opinion that "build, add, add, add, add, reset".

Thanks for the tip.
I think I'm trying to do/learn to much at one time. So I'm getting carried away.

Well, learning to play an instrument is supposed to take time, nothing wrong there...

This happens all the time. I get irrationally angry too. The worst is I’ll record something (like a few minutes worth of a jam or a song), save it, return to it later, and wonder what the fuck was I thinking?

Yeah I always find the best thing to do in those instances is to start slowly disassembling the patch. I generally find something interesting and not necessarily intended while I'm tearing down a patch.

Sometimes I record stuff that's decent, and then I start deconstructing the patch, but end up adding one or two extra things and I'm like OH FUCK why didn't I just do that in the first place. For example, first thing out of the box with Pamela, just took a straight drum beat. One envelope. Started deconstructing, but took the much faster and more random envelope from the melody and put both into an adder and then used that for the drum voice, and DAMN if it wasn't moving.

But in general, I've found good days and meh days when patching. There aren't bad days in modular synth, are there? It's kind of the same with guitar. Stuff gets stale and sometime you have to fight your boring tendencies to find new stuff.

But this is counter to the usual ILF model of buying until you want to vomit then selling everything all at once in a massive purge. Wait...that's my model.... :erm:

Something like the 4MS delays or the echofon appeal to me, but I'd like to save some hp (and cash!). Does anyone here use a chronoblob? Do you love it?

For the past year or so, every time I see this thread title I think of this scene from the Simpsons.
'Can we talk about chief Wiggum? Ah Ah!'

Just wanted to share.

Also fairly sure I'm gonna grab a Bugbrand Modular next year at some point.
