Ok I'm convinced   I'll hunt down a YBA or YRM (trem and reverb would be cool, had a deluxe reverb before and I loved having a real spring reverb and built-in trem)

Do you guys all use traynor cab ? I mostly see 2x12 and I would rather have a 1x12 cab. Can a 1x12 handle a YBA ? If so, any cab brand will fit as long as speakers are the right impedance right ? (yeah I'm new to head/cab setup).

The Traynor YGM-3 is basically a bizzaro-world deluxe reverb. 1x12 combo. Reverb and trem. It's great.

I've got the matching 4x10 cab. It's the only guitar cab in my wall atm, although I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't originally marketed as either a bass or bass and guitar cab. It's fine for what it is, but I really only keep it around because it matches the head. I'm all about bass cabs - finding the Traynor folded horn 18", that's the dream.

Yes, a 1x12 should be fine with the YBA - any brand, any speaker complement you want - provided the wattage and impedance are appropriate.

Yeah, I'd go with a combo if I were after a 1x12 setup, I understand OP wants a head/cab tho...

And for a speaker, safe rule is double the wattage of your amp's watts if you want a clean-ish sound, so a 90W single speaker at 8ohms is what you need, go for something below that if you want to achieve speaker breakup easily. However, those fuckers can handle like anything! I've seen people using 4, 8 and 16 ohm speakers lol.

Even though the point's been made already: Traynor. Another YBA-1 owner here. I'm old as fuck, and I've been through countless new/vintage combos and heads, mainly Fender/Orange/Vox/Marshall. The YBA-1 can hang with the best of em. Low end for days, plenty of clean headroom, juicy growly crunch at high volumes, a thick responsive attack that puts any Marshall SLP reissue to shame imo...

And contrary to all the big name vintage alternatives, it doesn't cost a fortune. Easy to work on too, according to my amp tech, and the built/parts quality it apparantly more tahn decent too.

Now if those guys who put up ads could just answer back -_-

Any love for Orange Tiny Terror ? How would it compare to à YBA-1 ? I've seen them for $450 CAD. YBA seems to be more around $550-700

I use a Lab Series 412 cab with two V30s and 2 original speakers (CTS I think). Used to have a Palmer 212 with greenbacks as well. So no Traynor-cab here.

The YBA-1 isn't very appartement friendly though, at least not in my appartement.

If you come across an Orange CR-60 or CR-120 while you’re looking for a Traynor you should at least check it out. It’s the solid state amp most likely to change people’s minds about solid state amps.

I’d say go for a Hiwatt Lead 30 from the 1980s, you can get them in your price range and they take pedals real well, super clean but can get some good dirt too. I like it better for a clean platform. I play the same sort of music, super spacey post rock sort of thing.

Great sounding amps and really cheap used, usually around $3-350 USD.
