The boss does have a lot of options but the sound is kinda sucky since it's all digital, just doesn't sound lush
Yeah, that's why I sold it, eventually. I've been through three phasers now and haven't really liked any of them. It's hard find a good one. I love phasers in music I listen to but it never works out for me..

I'm sure you've tried them already, but my russian small stones and phase90 sound so great and are as simple as it gets. Have you used the whetstone or grand orbiter yet?
I make noise toys under Stomping Stones

I've gone through the Boss PH-3, Phase 90 and Malekko Analog Phaser. The malekko is really good for it's size but not versatile enough.. I reckon I'll eventually go for a Whetstone. It's looks awesome and the demos sound real nice.. Also, I really like a long slow sweep and supposedly this one really does it..

Check out the alesis multiverb 4, I know nothing about steps but it has enough phasers, flangers, and all the rising and falling and pitch shifting I need.
