Massive FX Pedals GOAF

Post by Shawn5961 »

Anyone else seen or looked into these?

This thing is nuts. Based around the super rare Burns Buzzaround, it's got an insane sound. It's got four controls. I'm putting all these in quotes because this pedal is funky, in a good way - a "Master Volume", "Mid Shape", "Timbre/Tone/Treble", and finally Sustain. I dig the design of the pedal. It looks sick, and like it can put out some killer sounds - Which it totally does. It puts out a great normal fuzz sound with everything around noon. But once you start changing knobs, it really, really gets dynamic. They all interact with each other in such an interesting way. It can go from a super chunky fuzz, to a real fizzy fuzz just with a few knob changes. And on top of all that, it's an octave fuzz (which, the octave can be used on its own). So you can get even more unique and crazy sounds out of it.

I've only recorded one of these so far, but I plan to record some more. Here's a video of me, playing it straight into a Kemper with a Brentwood Colonial profile by Michael Britt - https://youtu.be/J3-g9MaFiJE

A second demo video, this time using the octave. Straight into the Kemper, using a Michael Britt Marshall 1969 Plexi profile - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4Ml6d5n29Q

Also, if I did anything wrong by linking videos here, someone please tell me. I'm new here!

Careful, Shawn.
If you aren't up front about where you're coming from (metaphorically, perhaps), people here are going to tear you to shreds. I'm not accusing you of anything, but you might receive some direct and challenging questions re: your low post count and enthusiastic endorsement of a pedal that has never been mentioned here before. If you respond with grace and a calm mind, you'll be fine I'm sure.

The pedal sounds great. Thanks for the demos!

Oh, I totally understand. I'm just recently finding my love for fuzz pedals. I had a bad first experience with one, and wrote them all off. But recently I've acquired some through some trades, and they're great. The others I own (Tomkat Violet Fuzz and SS/BS Buzzz) I saw threads for here, and after looking up the GOAF I saw it was pretty new, so I figured it might not be on anyone's radars yet. Sorry for raising any red flags!

I wish I had a bass to try it out! It seemed to handle octaved down guitar pretty well. I did this quick demo for someone last night - https://soundcloud.com/shawn5961/goaf-b ... wn/s-eqebn - I'm sure I could do another if you'd like. I've got plenty of ways to octave down. (Probably using an H9 would work better).
