I thought there was a secondary/hidden function to boost the signal without adding gain on this one. Haven't owned one, so I may very well be wrong.
Edit: ya
Master Volume can be adjusted by holding Footswitch A and turning the Dry control.
Agree it didn't have nearly enough volume on tap which is a killer for me as well. I don't play super loud, so I like my pedals to have a little volume to them. If they don't make the cut, they get kicked. Several I'm looking at chopping soon just because of that reason.

I think would be better suited in a studio environment where you could tweak levels after the fact and take a moment to tweak the knobs for a particular sound. But it was not quite as functional at my feet unless I wanted the extra grit every time I used the pedal. There are a lot of cool sounds in that box though. I want to play another sometime but probably wouldn't happen unless someone brings one to the next ILF MW meetup.

I checked mine last night. There was a slight change in the tone going from bypassed to on/100% dry. Maybe a slight change in the bass response. But I wouldn't consider it anything major. And certainly not a deal-killer IMO if you otherwise like what it does.

I mainly play bass, so it's sort of a big deal.
FWIW, I mainly play keyboards and was testing this on the low end of my boards. I even used a pitch shifter to drop it down even lower to see how it responded.
There was definitely an audible difference, so I'm not saying you're wrong. But at least on my unit in my setup, it wasn't anything I would consider substantial. Just putting it out there for others who may be interested in the pedal and were concerned by your comment on your experience.

That's fair. same thing I was doing
I do, however, call to the stand the 4-5 ILFers who were there when we gave it a test spin. I honestly can't recall who else was there but Simon The Magpie, but we all agreed that the low end cut was pretty bad and that it made no sense for it to be there at 100% dry. We also opened it up to look at the PCB and there's no reason for it to have side jacks either.

Yeah, 100% agreed that there's no reason to have any change at full dry. AND that there shouldn't be side jacks on this boat!

Sold mine because I wanted to use it on synth more and with my Sub37 this was a 100% deal breaker. No matter how much or how little I tweaked the gain, even with all of the wet signal cut, there's significant low end loss.
And side jacks make me sad.
Edit to say while it was also present on guitar, it had much less of a dramatic effect and didn't really bother me in a measurable way

Would be awesome to get a statement from Hologram. Both the Infinite and Dream seq drops a lot of low end even in dry signal. So its something with the signal being all digital even before the wacko effects? Also why the fuck did they drop all midi when making a synth pedal after having that on a pitcholo pedal? Fashion over function?
Maybe the thinking is that a synth pedal isnt made to use with synth rather make not synths synths
