Babicz Full Contact Strat saddle mini review

Post by Tag Intel »

I just installed the Babicz Full Contact Strat saddles on my '62 Strat. Here are my impressions.

Does the "full contact" idea work? Yes, but to different degrees on different guitars.

How much more sustain on yours? I estimate, non-scientifically, it to be about 10 to 20%

Is it easy to install? Not difficult, but it should take less than an hour doing it slowly and carefully.

Intonation? Same as other saddles

String height adjustment?
The absolute best design EVAR! The string height adjustment screw heads are behind the saddle (see pics). They do not "poke up" to collect your sweaty hand salsa. And they can lock it in position, too. Here are some pics:

Here is a view of the set screws for height. In each saddle, the left is the locking screw and the right is the adjustment screw:

View of "clean" surface for your palm to rest on, no scraping little screws:

And the overall effect:

I am happy with them. They would be put to better use in a Strat that wasn't "wood block hardtailed."
My pot smoking days are over. I'm vaporizing now.
