Charlie's dead. Let's jam some of his and the family's tunes.

Lol yeah, yeah I know. When I first heard those albums as a teenager and would play them at parties I was definitely being the edgiest little edgelord from edge-ville. I'm not getting a RIP manson tattoo or yammering about how they were misunderstood. I just think its fascinating that those records exist, especially the "family jams" one. The leader of their cult got locked up so they made an album to tell their side of the story and on that record they talk about murder and child abduction and just come off as total creeps. Its a really bizarre historical artifact.

are there any other militant dumpster diving anthems from the 60's or is this the best one by default?

In all seriousness (not that this thread wasn't serious) Bobby Beausoleil (who was in the Manson family) made some excellent music, most notably, the LUCIFER RISING soundtrack.

Speaking of 'edginess', I remember when I was getting into 'Noise' I showed my colleagues John Duncan's 'Blind Date'. I'm not going to post it here, not because I think it would offend people, rather, the intro is way more interesting than the actual piece (imho, the piece really isn't worth your time after the intro which explains the concept; kind of a classic example where some stuff is cooler to read about than listen to).
"SWIPE LEFT ASSHOLE!" -retinal orbita
"Whatever ASSHOLE here’s my pedal that makes humpback whale noises and also it has a built in sequencer so stick it in your craw! -retinal orbita
"Patty Mullen takes me from a ball peen to a sledge" -The Great Velvet Hammer
"...at this exact moment Divine has learned of your jealous scheme from the local town gossip. She also has your address, ASS HOLE!" -Narrator (Mr. J) PINK FLAMINGOS
