I saw the Quadrantid Swarm kickstarter the other day; sounds and looks amazing! Kind of reminded me of a No-Coast with a lot more features. I have way too much gas for semi-modular and standalone devices lately.

Yup. Although I realised I've never even looked up what the O Coast can do, kind of avoided that one unintentionally, I love the sounds I've heard from it though. I was kind of under the impression that it had a LOT of features, but you say the quadrantid has more?

Also there is a distinct LACK of demos/sounds of the Softpop since it was released, wonder if it's a disappointment after such a built up and long wait?

Every time I look at Peter Blasser's Quantussy design my head pops off. I want a Cocoquantus just for that middle part.

People absolutely LOVE the quantussy, it gets so much praise all over the place, but I'm yet to hear any examples of the quantussy that have blown my mind. Maybe I'm just not getting what it's doing but the majority of people seem to use their cocoquantus as a lo-fi looper with some neat manipulation possibilities.

I mean first and foremost I just think it looks stunning from a design standpoint.

It's used either to modulate the delays on either side, or it can be used as the sound source for the delays itself. Having 5 oscillators in a flower design though is just really cool to me.

Well the Quadrantid has 8 modes, polyphonic capabilities, two filters, a sequencer, and reverb. The No-Coast doesn't have any of that, but it's Overtone and Multiply circuits are pretty unique and, at a glance, it seems to have better MIDI implementation. Honestly, they're two very different beasts so my comparison probably isn't that fair :idk:

I really like that stuff too Mr. N (Clearly, ). I think it translates to pedals too as most of the time I like to noodle around with one device at a time.

@Strange - You just opened up another can of night crawlers for me. I have to read into that!

"Whatever ASSHOLE here’s my pedal that makes humpback whale noises and also it has a built in sequencer so stick it in your craw! -retinal orbita

Yea I'm trying to decide right now if I want to build a Deckard's Dream or just get a Cocoquantus 2 + OP-1.

First. World. Problems.

Eowave will be at the Tokyo Festival of Modular next week-end, and Marc (Mr Eowave) is super cool so if he has the Quadrantid there I can try it/ask questions and give my not necessarily relevant impressions :).

Oh yeah don't get me wrong, it's an absolute beauty of a design, it's more me admitting I have no idea what the hell it does or what any of his circuits mean. I am enamoured with Peter's aesthetic and the way he has developed his own vernacular for Ciat Lonbarde, I often try to explain him as the Don Buchla of our generation to people who don't know who he is, although that's pretty obviously a loose comparison.

This seems to be slowly becoming a popular combo, as far as I can see if you were going to only own 2 instruments this pair could keep you busy for years and still provide new workflows and sounds every day.

@Strange - Last time you were between two pieces of gear I told you to get that one module instead of the OP-1. Do you use that one (I know what it is but I forgot the name, it's like a sound computer with tons of CV parameters, Ruiner has one too?). Regardless, I'm inclined to say the later combo.

Deckard's dream looks intense. I haven't followed any of the Muff threads on it. I think it sounds great but I don't man...you have a great Euro setup and there is no CV on Deckard's Dream (I am a moron so I might have missed it?). I'm sure you're looking to build it though for the glory (it would be glorious).

You could get a Morphagene -> have it easily added to your system and call it a day?

I wondered if it was possible (haven't given the patch points an intensive look over yet) to seperate the 2 filter outputs for a 2 channel instrument? I'm kind of nuts about about having 2 channel instruments since I got the Tetrax and double knot, and splitting my Bugbrand crossover filter into 6 outputs provides some tasty tasty 2 channel action, with drastically different stuff coming out of each side.
