White/pink noise app?

Post by goroth »

I'm trying to find an app (iOS) to make white noise with, or pink noise, but all I can find are stupid apps for like sleep and relaxation with jungle noises and stuff.

Anyone know of a decent noise generator app?

I've been using a thing called MyNosie for concentration at work recently but I guess it would work for this purpose too?

There's a straight up adjustable noise generator as one of the options, which is what I use with most of the higher ranges turned down until it's a dark rumbling doomy thing in my headphones.

Do the sleep ones not work? What are you trying to do? I use a free one called White Noise. I’ve used it for musical purposes, but also to knock babies out. It has lots of frequencies...I generally use brown noise.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Sleep ones that I've found have like waves or forest noises and stuff.

I just want noise to drone out of life. Maybe read a book. Stare at the wall. You know. Disengage completely. I'm on a work trip at the moment and I just need to disengage.

Best answer.

MyNoise app is awesome — tons of noises with variable band sliders for different frequencies or components of the soundscape.

Both model 15 and Thor have noise generators. They are also both great synths
