For sure. Didn't want to write a ton because I suspect this is not true for everyone, but pretty frequently I read something that transfers to sound or hear something that speaks to philosophy and have to shut down to process it. Like Mandelbrot sequences, the cadavre exquis, how to graph social movements (expo/logarithmic curves), granular processing as a way of thinking about interiority...stuff like that.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

That mother 32 looks really raddd. The organelle might be a buy in the future as well, for some reason I thought they were the same price as the OP-1.
I'm aware of the bastl kastle cause of Andrew Huang's video on it. BABY CABLES. BABLES!
Thing is cute as fuck. I'd probably get a micro granny first tho.

Re: Wanna get into modular, but I'm poor.
I think if you're able to spend $150-$250 at a time for a while, be it weekly or monthly (quarterly may be a bit too slow), you're able to start. There are enough entry level modules, cases and power options in that range to get anyone started "inexpensively" now.
The inexpensive route is definitely the road less travelled though. It takes determination and a vision to walk that road, I think. I am always interested in seeing what is possible with more cheap/practical modules and less glitz and glam/big names. DIY systems can be really great, basically as cool as you want them to be, and give a lot of bang for the buck (and work). Certainly, larger and more functional systems can be made for the same cost as small ones that are filled with $300-$500 modules. Ebay and muffs bst are filled with bargains, $60 doepfer modules, etc. It can be done cheap, but you need to want it that way and go for the ghetto style, which might not be as cool as all the shiny new shit, but is definitely cooler on that dirty underground level. I love to see some big ugly beast racks filled with unhip modules kicking shiny poser ass.

Re: Wanna get into modular, but I'm poor.
listen to modular dad.
you can download VCV to get a feel for things but one of the appeals of modular for me is the workflow (getting away from the damn computer). I think starting off with an all in one deal would be best before diving in. at least so you have all the essentials covered after you understand it. pretty sure I'm in the minority here, but if you're into the east coast stuff I would opt for a SV-1 over a M32. unless you're really into that sound/sequencer.. or go for an 0-coast
intellijel phenol seems pretty cool, too. don't know much about it tho
srsly if you don't mind using a computer for music, get a macbook and ableton live with a comfortable midi controller.
the shit you can with that is ridiculous.

...and takes over the prison, before getting rescued by a spaceship full of aliens who love my music.

I actually am very boring and safe (it's only miyazaki), married 25 years, we just never wanted kids and all that. I reached a point where I would have been okay with it if she changed her mind, but that never happened and never will, which is fine. It's the only reason we have any fun money anyway...
