Karp is used mostly as a snare / digital noise / modulated bashment glitch and sometimes as an out-of-control hi-hat monster. Usually, I'll modulate the decay so it's doing this-or-that all the time bling bling.

Also, the fuckin' screws are worth it. They are so tight.

Ok Knurlie champs. I usually use washers, except this most recent go’round when I needed screws I just went extra cheap and got nylon screws - no washers required. I see that the Befaco knurlies come with an included washer. Tell me, is the washer threaded on the screw, or loose, or just a close fit, or something else? When you are busy saving time by thumb screwing your knurlies, do the included washers stay with the knurlie or do you have intervene to make sure they stay together.

Last of all, do these tall-ass knurlies ever feel like they are in the way?

One thing Vidret and I were talking about the other day: It's very easy to get turned on to CV and get caught up in making sure everything can connect to everything else while losing sight of whether or not you're actually going to use it in your music.

I've already started falling into this trap man. I just got a Moog MP 201 for CV control and now I'm thinking "did I really need that". LOL! I have the Lightning Wave EVA as well and I want to plug that fucking thing into everything I can. It's obsessive. I don't use the cv shit hardly ever when I play but I sure what to mess around with it! I actually really want to try my EVA with the Folktek Mescaline.

I usually think "help me decide on my rack lol" threads are dumb but I'm still gonna post this... After thinking and tinkering on modulargrid for hours (ugh) I think I'd like to choose one of these two configurations for my case. Regardless of how I go I would like to have all of these modules eventually, so it's less about one over the other and more about which way to go first and stick with for a good while. I'd also be using an SQ-1 with this.

I'm not asking for people to vote or tell me what to do, but I'd be curious to hear what some of ya'll think about these possibilities. & yes, I know I probably won't love all of these modules cuz I don't have them yet, but I feel like a plan is necessary for me not to just buy random shit.

Oh and as far as my musical goals go: RHYTHM + DRONE

#1: Rene + Noise Tools




#2: Turing + Quantizer + Logic + Noise + DSP + more 1u space




I really like all the functionality of #2, but #1 looks like a very cohesive system, so much so that it seems... inviting.

I read some stuff saying the Rene doesn't work well with the power supply that comes with Intellijel cases. You might want to double check and make sure I'm not full of shit.

That's for old Intellijel cases. I bought Intellijel power boards this year and I've had no problem with my Rene.

Threaded on so they won’t fall off. I’ll tell you if I feel they get in the way when I swap them out over the next few days but I don’t think they will.

wooooo! FLXS got here. damn that was fast. paid it off, dooder shipped it yesterday about 4 (he does live in Davis, which is only a 2 hour drive from mines, but still), and it got here in less than a day.

i know what I'M doing this weekend.

..... it does have a lot of.... character. but Deltz and Ruiney are right. nowhere near as OH GAWD WHY in person.
