It’s more than that. Have you ever stuck two strymon pedals next to each other in your chain? Have you not noticed the hissing sound that comes from them even when they’re off? Those pedals are so picky with what’s even next to it especially another strymon pedal. The repeats on an analog delay breakup as it trails when chopping repeated notes from the delay and playing notes over them they bloom and have a natural breakup to them this is something unachivable with a digital delay. That was my point, that’s why I asked why some people run both, I personally can’t get past the perfect robotic feel of digital sounds, I can hear the natural break up and feel of analog pedals. And I do use buffers but most digital pedals have an added buffer inside which if too many are in your chain it adds to a hissy signal and unwanted “distortion” of the the signal. At this point the square wave forms of digital are so small I can’t tell but I can tell how they react with my other pedals and my amp and most of all my signal

I have had several Strymons next to each other and I have a dead quite signal path. I'm not sure what could be causing that for you, but it's not an issue for me.

I mean, I get what you're saying, I've just never personally experienced it.

Here's my current board. Lots of digital. Obviously there's some degradation of the signal due to the massive path but it's not horrible and barely noticeable.

This thread is irritating. All of this stuff is completely subjective and it's only the way the OP has presented his opinions as fact that are controversial. As I said back on page 2 or 3.. Nobody here gives a rats ass about hand wired pure toanz. Most of us are noise junkies who like to make our guitars or basses or toaster fitted with 3 contact mics and a drumstick sound like dying whales floating through the void.
There is no right answer. There is no wrong answer... It's just straight up preference.

Technically cassettes would be better than those but cd's are the gold standard as far as quality of actually keeping the true tone in tact.

Ok so if there is no deference why did Keely make mods to the Line 6 Pedals? Why do brands like Diamond, Empress, and Chase Bliss make it so a digital path is blended into your analog path instead of just going straight into a digital circuit? You know why? Because going stight into a digital circuit and back out effects your analog signal... no one would go through the trouble of those designs if it didn’t
