Delay Pedal Quest

Post by eyobeez »

Hey people,

I am looking for a delay that can sit back and add ambience to single-note lines AND make a wash of repeats that won't freak out until I decide it's ok.

Needs trails, minimal tone suck, smeary repeats. Modulation isn't a must.

I really liked the Dunlop Echoplex delay when I tried it out. In fact, if I can't find anything better, I'll probably pick one up used; however, I've also enjoyed Mike Hermans' demo of the Subdecay Anamnesis.

What say you all?

Have you played a Meet Maude? It's super gauzy. You lose high end on the repeats, but your clean signal won't get dampened.

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Never played one. Would love to, though. I love the oscillation sound...

Yeah it's also CV/exp controllable so you can dial in the self osc 'when [you] decide it's ok'!
Although I don't think it has trails, so it wouldn't fit your requirements :(
You won't find hotter modulation (or low pass gating) on another delay though, at least til Dwarfcraft drops that Curse.

Moog MF-104m if you have the budget.
I sold mine because it was overkill for what I do.

If you can live without trail... Fairfield Circuitry Meet Maude is awesome... love mine.

Ibanez DE-7, he will decide when it's ok to freak out.

I need them trails. I like to turn delay on for long notes in solos and turn it off for faster lines.

Does the Malekko 600d has trail?

If so, there's one in the BST.

This may come as a surprise but the DigiDelay does all of that + has a loop function + you can find one for less than $40.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I am on this one.
It's so cheap I would recommend it to anyone regardless (I got mine for like $33).

Honestly this is probably your best option. So much you can do with it. And if you ever decide to sell it, it will retain its value so you won't lose money on the deal.
